Wrong coolant?

Took my BMW E46 to the shop for a coolant leak yesterday.

Just now I found out they filled her up with pink coolant after they fixed the leak.

I always used blue coolant in this car, and I've been told aluminum radiators don't like the pink type very much.

How harmfull is this? Should I call the garage?

>e46

LMAO

Pink will probably turn your car in to a fag, its a girl color after all.

Your replies have not been informative at all.

Put a dildo in the exhaust pipe to please your faggot bmw and itll be fine

Welcome to Veeky Forums

It's your fault. You should have known they were going to drain the cooling system and refill it.
Also
>taking your car to a shop and letting someone else fix it for you
>oh look they put wrong antifreeze in my car
Should have fixed it yourself

What's the factory spec?
If it's not pink in color, drain what's in there and flush with factory coolant

Usually pink coolant is without silicates, which is what you want for aluminium engines

I didnt have the equipment needed for this one.
I'm not a retard.

And I would expect them to know what to put in because blue came out. Not to mention ITS THEIR FUCKING JOB.

It came with blue.
Think it's harmfull at all? Won't be driving her for more than another year anyways.

Thank you

Wat engine? I've used "red/pink" in my m52 e46 for 12 years with no trouble.
Color itself isn't really any guarantee for anything. You should check the label/ask what type it was. (Or refill yourself, duh)

I use blue-ish from bmw in my s54 though.

It's an M43B19 (yuropoor here)

Call them and tell them. If you can't drive it over, most places will usually fix any error that is made.

However, keep the service records if something bad happens to it via the coolant system. You'll be able to argue that it was their neglect that caused the problem in court if it comes to that.

Had to do that when a shop put the wrong grade of oil into my older Dakota when I was getting the other parts of the engine serviced as well. It threw a rod and it was GG from there.

At least they paid for all the repairs after I threatened legal action.

I don't have any experience with the i4s, but I would call them anyway and make sure the coolant was suited for alu engines.

is the block aluminum? or just the radiator

Dunno, might be an iron block with aluminum head (and alu radiator)

There's an easy way to tell; is it magnetic?

>laughing at an e46
It's probably the last good 3 series they made before they went off into Bangle Swoopy Pigfat Land you dipshit.

I would drain it and put blue back in if don't know for sure.

>argue in court
If OP knew about the problem and didn't complain at the time, then the court will reject his claim.

are you fucking 12?
>hahaha pink coolant mean u is gon b girl lolz
get the fuck out of here you need for speed playing retard.

Do you honestly think that he was serious?

NEVER mix coolant types, even if they are the same color. They can react with each other and cause blockages in your radiator.

Flush your coolant, and put in one type of coolant.

>i didnt have the equipment to fix my car
>im not a retard
>not having the equipment to fix your own car
>paying hundreds to a shop to have them JB weld a leak
you sound like a retard to me
