You gotta remember the oil in your bike is lubing the motor AND transmission and clutch if you have a wet clutch. So motorcycle oil is different. Yes, he was right. You must use oil formulated for motorcycles because they have wet clutches. The crankcase, transmission, and clutch all share the same sump.

This is weird for oil because you want as much friction as possible in the clutch, and as little friction as possible on the crank and in the gearbox. Motorcycle oil has a different set of additives than car oil to allow for this.

Fuk it's been forever since I've had a good ride. I always just go a few miles down the road to HEB or CVS or something. I usually just wear my helmet cuz I hate gearing up it takes so long. I gear up for long rides but for just down the street I don't give a fuck. That's why I don't ride as much anymore, it's not worth 10 minutes of gearing up for a 5 minute ride.
