We really need to put that in the OP. This constant Curty oppression has gone on for far too long.
Ethan Evans
Assuming the next few banners are FFT, Bf collab and FF13, are there really any characters worth pulling for except Tilith?
Ethan Flores
Tilith isn't worth going for on the first banner, it's liquid anus.
The second banner is also liquid anus, but at least by then Tilith and Vargas are actually useful.
Luke Cook
Unless you're in the mood to Waifu, or you want a specific trust reward, not really.
Unfortunately, Agrias is mai waifu, so I'm in trouble.
Elijah Wright
Best girl?
Gavin Roberts
Yes. Ramza, Delita are good 6* worthy units. Snow is kinda mediocre but his 6* status makes him good, you get another shot at Lightning. Agrias can Full Break, so can Sazh.
Nathaniel Cook
Ifrit is at 2*, Golem is at 2*. Should I do Diabolos next for Artemios, or Ramuh for Tellah? Tellah is sitting at 288 mag with the best non tm gear/abilities I can get my hands on and that's kind of a bummer.
Asher Bennett
Diabolos for dat reduce encounter.
Unless you macro, in which case Ramuh for the increased magic damage.
Jacob Flores
So now you guys saw the last Playstation live with all those bugs and final crash, do you still have any hope in FFXV ?
Zachary Cruz
I never did.
Nathaniel Diaz
If you have either CoD then it's worth it, since she'll have something like 5 or 6 stackable man-eater.
Otherwise, Ramuh is the better choice for now, unless you have more black magicite for some reason.
>reduce encounter
In a game where you farm mats and exp from monsters? Where many events are grinding through explorations?
Top advice sport.
Kayden Edwards
Which is why I used the qualifier "if you don't macro."
Reduce encounter would've made the last event 10x easier for non-kefka-owners. It would make the day-to-day grind way easier.
It and Man-Eater are the ONLY two reasons to ever use that trash eseper. Well that and the Maxwell fight.
Brandon White
>Reduce encounter would've made the last event 10x easier for non-kefka-owners. You can carry smoke bombs. I only got into an average of 9 battles, all of which I smokebombed away. But then I did have my charm bangle on..
The idea is it offers convenience, which is a godsend in a game about repeatedly doing the same shit. It makes hero ring AND esper farming that much saner.
The only times it's bad are for unit xp and even farming. And there's always alternative espers to switch to.
In the grander scale of espers we get, Diabolos is next on the chopping block for 90% of people. Those aren't as useful as you make them sound.
Julian Myers
I got my Diablos to level 20 2* and his attack disappoints something fierce compared to Shiva who is at the same level(Shiva boosts 19 ATK while Diablos boosts only 14 ATK). The Killers and Darkside tilt him to physical characters who have good enough physical stats though.
Carbunkle is a support esper though. Odin will dethrone Diablos for a short time until we get the Maxwell/Kefka Trials where you have to summon him as part of the mastery.
Grayson Hall
Be strong, user. At least they all got the sweet release of death.
Bentley Baker
At least carbuncle is actually best at something (SPR), instead of being mediocre at everything like diabolos.
Plus it turns any unit into an off-healer, which is awesome. More appropriate to replace Golem in a lot of ways, but depending on your party you won't need a third magic attack esper as much as a healer esper.
Diabolos is just "eh"
Nathan Long
>Ifrit is for Physical Damage >Golem is for Tanks >Shiva is for MP >Ramuh is for Magical Damage >Diabolos is for Otherkins >Siren if for Ultros and Furfags
Austin Walker
Whenever the Maxwell Trial comes around I will have CoD equip Diablos to stack man-eaters and CoD's innate Holy Resistance will negate the penalty of Diablos. Carbunkle will go onto Exdeath so that he can protect himself from Maxwell's Holy attacks.
We really need Odin right now as he's the best attack esper but he comes 2 islands later and only maxes at 1* at the start until we get the later content that allows for Odin to go to 2*.
Jose Bell
Yeah, that's the plan here too.
Or I'll just bring some whale friend and cream the fuck out of Maxwell.
Aiden Green
Yes. It will be the best FF in the history of forever
David Powell
You better bring a mage then since Maxwell takes more damage from magic over physical. An 800+MAG Exdeath with W Meteor will cause 100K damage of her 1M HP.
Hopefully we get a special gacha with events that will allow you to roll with the event materials like the FFXIV event.
Luis Brown
>maxwell >her
Nani?
Dominic Jones
On the bright side, I doubt we'll have to actually summon Diabolos to get her as a unit.
On the downside, whatever we WILL have to do would be even worse.
Isaiah Young
>less then 50 mythril because I rolled on FFT and FFV thinking that Wburst will be as "meh" as in JP >it's not and it has G5 Well that fucking sucks, oh well, not like it changes my plans that much, OK is less than 10 events away and after that shit hits the fan so I can't let myself roll the fest now, but the tought that I could roll on fest instead of these banners hurts a bit
Ryan Roberts
You still can kupo
Levi Turner
Nah, fuck you jewgle, choke on all the cakes we gave you in BE
Well, maybe she's not the smartest cookie in the jar, but we love her anyway.
Levi Martin
Will apple notice?
Jose Long
>32-bit Way too obvious, more than the jewgle thing. Try 8-bits.
Brody Campbell
ded general, ded fantasy
Cameron Wood
I wonder how many people actually play the global versions of BE and RK, and at what numbers will their respective companies finally shut down the game servers due to unprofitability.
Caleb Gonzalez
>bedile
fuggg :DDDD
Benjamin Jones
There was an exploration somebody was saying is great for XP gains if you macro but I don't remember what it was. Anybody know? Shit takes so long to level
Alexander Rodriguez
>>less then 50 mythril because I rolled on FFT and FFV t
what the fuck are you on user? I blew literally all my mythril on ffv banner and buff banner and i'm already back at 75. You know if you pay the game it works better, right?
Ian Morris
gumi has already said japs spend 3x as much per user in JPBE, but GL has such a wider playerbase that it evens out and both are profitable
Ayden Collins
Source? Actually, if you have a source that has most financial answers about mobile game, please link.
In his defense, it was a good typo to greentext. It wasn't just a "haha you spelled this word wrong" thing, it was a "haha this word being spelled wrong changes the whole meaning of the sentence" thing.
Isaac Sanders
Not sure about Gumi, but considering that DeNa/Mobage have a 4 years old card game alive in Japan (Rage of Bahamut), they will probably keep the nostalgia/gem mine active for a few more years. Then again, RoB was shut down in west some months ago (but it was published by Cygames in west, I think), and one of their biggest games and also best FF mobage never got a western release, but is fully translated to english. So, if you are worried about a gacha simulator being killed out of "nowhere", you should probably play the JP version.
Jose Perry
I've never played a Final Fantasy game in my life, but I've been wanting to get into the series for a long time. So today I've decided to play every FF game available on Steam, starting with FF3. What am I in for guys?
Noah Long
A pretty boring start.
Adrian Perez
When I play a series I usually like to start with the earliest entry I can get my hands on, but what would you suggest I start with?
Landon Jenkins
I'd say FF4 is good to start with if you have that mindset, but I'm not a fan of the 3D version that is on Steam. If you're cool with emulators you can play FF1, 2, and 4 on the PSP and those are the best versions of each of those games.
Evan Moore
Alright, thanks. Just a question, what's so bad about the 3D steam version?
Zachary Taylor
>and one of their biggest games and also best FF mobage never got a western release, but is fully translated to english
You mean Granblue? I've always wanted to try it actually, but I have my hands full with BE, Hearthstone and Pokemon Shuffle at the moment.
Daniel Williams
>So, if you are worried about a gacha simulator being killed out of "nowhere", you should probably play the JP version. >Implying JP version can't also be killed out of nowhere I've played some of Scamco and Square Enix mobile games which are dead now.
Joseph Perez
It just has some different mechanics like Augments and such, and it doesn't have the cool postgame dungeon and ability to change your party towards endgame that the 2D versions (aside from the SNES) have. There's a couple other things that I can't really remember, but I definitely enjoyed the 2D version more.
Eli Myers
FF games on Steam are pretty bad compared to free emulators, since most of them are just cheap iOS/Android ports (FFIII included). Try the PSP or DS version. FFIII is a bit "grind-heavy" in certain moments and challenging for beginners, but it is a good game and have one of FF's most popular features, the Job system. After that (or if you drop it), if want a classic FF game with Job/class system, try FFV Advance with the sound patch. If you want more low-poly 3D, try FFIV on DS. The rest of the series also have good games with different stories, themes and mechanics, so you can pick them based on your tastes.
Carson Morris
Threadly reminder that Vayne Solidor did nothing wrong.
Gabriel Stewart
we call that a Freudian slip, kupo
Bentley Ward
Yeah, you should give it a try someday. App version is kinda slow on certain phones but the game works great on Chrome (both PC and phone). In my opinion, GBF is superior to BE in every aspect. It even have more "FF-inspired" features than BE itself, like a job system with cross-job skills and passives similar to FFV.
Well, RK is in DeNa's hands, I'm sure they will milk it to death and apply some necromancy tricks on it after that. The ones that got killed fast are developed and published by SE, like Brigade.
Caleb Diaz
Threadly reminder that Cid Raines did nothing wrong.
Brody Wilson
If you do just use this link to play in browser(or PC Chrome or phone) game.granbluefantasy.jp/ Ignore the apk, also making account for this will double as account for JPRK if you ever want to play that too Most important thing, NEVER go to the /gbfg/, at most take the info from the OP but for the love of God don't read the thread if you like your sanity Offtopic over
Sebastian Lee
>tfw the first thing you notice about the picture is the Staryu instead of the girl
Anyway, holy shit. It's like a mobile emulator built into a browser. Color me impressed. Bookmarking for future uses when I inevitably blank on the Orlandu banner.
Adam Powell
Morally or in terms of being right or wrong about course of action?
Christian Lopez
Well, the app is useful for easily buy some GBCoins, kupo when you want to. And, to be honest, /gbfg/ is just a bunch of waifufags and bored shitposters posting cute pictures of cute girls while talking about the JP meta. Just like /ffg/, except they have more people posting on their thread so stuff is faster. Threads like /xivg/, /rog/ and "e-sports" generals are a lot worse.
Cameron James
Both, his goals and actions were both noble and logical.
Evan Harris
What's the story like?
Asher Sullivan
>look at FF:ATB yeah, not anytime soon that's for sure
Jaxson Parker
>Threw everything I had at the Celes event. >No Lightbringer. >Have to hope it shows up on our 2nd Anniversary banner like it does it Japan. >Gotta wait six months to find out. Just kill me.
William Rivera
>that image
fuck you user i wasn't expecting that and almost spat out my drink lol
Wyatt Nelson
it's a final fantasy: one piece. except you're flying on an airship across the blue ocea-, I mean, sky with your crew and you're the captain. collecting the skymap or something along the way.
Julian Flores
Cool. What about the gameplay? You (or maybe not you) said it's superior to BE in every way, but let's be honest, that's not really saying a lot, is it lmao
Jace Bennett
Surprising nice for this kind of game. The theme is a typical JRPG adventure (main guy/girl saves mysterious cute girl connected to ancient civilization from evil empire, then they jump on an airship to explore the world of flying islands to find some mythical land), but the progression and characters (the main aspect of GBF's story, and the game as a whole) are pretty nice. All units have their own side-stories, some events also have their own story arcs, most dialogues are also fully voiced (since japan love dem cute VAs), and there is even a silly 4koma that can be accessed ingame.
Isaac Williams
>googles FF:ATB >browses through screenshots >itcantbethatbad.jpg >searches youtube for gameplay >my eyes
What the fuck is this abomination? It looks more like a bullet hell game than a final fantasy.
Luis Hill
>blank Silly user, that's no longer possible I have seen places that can discuss GBF while being a lot less retarded, toxic and far more civil(like /a/ or /v/) Evil empire chases girl that can control primal beasts because reasons You protect and DIE for the girl She connects her life to yours so you survive Adventure to fuck the empire over and find MC's dad Aaaaand then whole lot of shit happened >What about the gameplay? MC+3 characters in front row fight, you also have 2 characters in back row to replace the ones that died in front Every turn you can use potions, summons and skills Turn ends when you click attack and all characters will auto-attack the target It sounds really simple, but I think its really fun because the skills have variety of effects starting from damage-dealing nukes, buffs, debuffs and ending on stacking abilities, there's also the fact that bosses(the meat of the combat) have a "timer" in form of gems under the HP bar and they will use their "limit break"(ougi) when it's full and they also have a gauge that fills up as you attack them and when it's full they enter Overdrive state and get stronger and the ougi changes, the gauge can be then depleted to put boss in break state where you getpretty much a free turn and weaken the boss for a short while, there's a fuckton of management with that
Ian Cooper
yeah, I'm not the user that said that. battle itself is fairly simple at a glance, just attack, skill and summon. the catch is stacking all of those skills for buffs (and debuff too) so you can deal massive damage when unleashing your ougi (limit break thingy). there's more but that's the most basic. single player battle isn't all that much better than BE to me, the raid/multiplayer is the one that shine the most. the raid bosses are pretty great, it's like those farplane monster in BE. they have unique gimmick and such.
Jack Williams
Turn-based RPG with a few "real time" elements (mostly important for multiplay, you won't notice them in single play). Compared to BE, combat is somewhat similar but have a few more mechanics on it: Buffs are based on turns, but debuffs are real time; characters can chain ougis (limit breaks) together or charge up other unit's ougi bars by 10%; some characters have a bit more complex mechanics, like Naru's switching combat stances for different skill effects and Beatrix's clock changing her stats each turn. Gearing up is a bit more "complex", since you need to build your equipment pool based on your units' elements. Some summons also have a big impact on your gear choices based on their passive skills and types.
There is also tons of other features that won't fit on a single post (like co-op and raids, casino mini-games, some events have their own gacha currency, etc), and gacha is a lot more generous and have some nice non-RNG "safety nets" (tons of love for whales too).
Easton Scott
>What the fuck is this the pinnacle of all mobages ever created. no mobages shall ever come close to this masterpiece ever again. you might as well quit being a gamer too after playing it.
Hudson Ross
You literally swipe your finger around the screen to play. That's it.
Parker Robinson
>gacha is a lot more generous and have some nice non-RNG "safety nets" Wouldn't really say that
Connor Torres
RK BE Mobius Granblue BTFO
Xavier Gomez
>implying the thread would survive without them
Hunter Turner
Nah bruv. We /ffatb/ now
Henry Gonzalez
Stuff like moon currency for duplicates, pull cost similar to RK based on the usual rewards (from login and quests/events/fates, plus extra stuff like guild war's betting for free crystals), getting low tier SRs from 10-pulls isn't as bad as 4* Shadows since you can at least "recycle" your pulls in different ways, legfest banner rate ups, and goyim-friendly stuff like star banners and surprise tickets (10-pull ticket plus pick anyone you want, except for event-exclusive units and that Visa slut). It isn't as generous as RK's rate ups from banners and throwing mythril at you for the silliest reasons, but it is a lot better than BE.
Bentley Russell
The thing that sets the two apart is that, no matter what kind of 4-5* you get in BE, you can use it and still get some worth out of it, but in GBF you have elements, so even if you do roll a SSR, its useless to you if you don't run that element
Gabriel Mitchell
>It isn't as generous as RK's rate ups from banners and throwing mythril at you for the silliest reasons, but it is a lot better than BE. >Considering 10-pulls on Granblue is only at least 1 SR and above, you can still getting zero SSR and characterless SRs. The gacha is worse then RK and BE imo. At least 3* and 4* on RK and BE can still be somewhat useful.
Eli Kelly
I honestly would prefer to use the story characters over stuff like Shadow, spellblades and low tier/non-cheer healers, so they have absolutely zero use to me even as TM fodder, it is a 100% wasted lapis/ticket to me. There is also the fact fact that actual pull rates for characters on the same rank aren't exactly equal (at least they changed the 4~5* pull rates on JP). Maybe I'm just getting lucky in GBF, but I prefer it's gacha features over BE's.
Jaxon Adams
so i installed FFATB out of pure curiosity. Do you eventually gain some premium characters through game progression or is it strictly buying them?
It's shit, btw.
Samuel Moore
It's strictly buying them, and it's with a gacha too. And there's no "free currency".
Is the shop even open anymore?
Julian Myers
Gacha stuff is gacha obly, but you can finish the game with free units/weapons.
Dylan Nguyen
user who picked BE back up here - there aren't any events going on now, right? If there are events, are they weekly like RK? I'm grinding the EXP dungeon to try and cap some characters out and have the first two continents completed.
Robert Morris
Nein. Events are kinda sporadic at the moment and they can last longer than a week, such as the jewcake event.
Hudson Ward
What were they thinking with this pile?
Ethan Green
"Let's see how we can make money off the FF brand with as little effort as possible".
David Sanders
What the fuck has Gumi done to Arena?
Now it's all fucking mass petrification. It was all fun and games when it was just Golem Cane, but now with Setzer and the new petrification sword from the FFX event, everybody has it.
Jose Perry
I am loving Final Fantasy Adventure so far. It's old-school Zelda with the addition of a leveling system.
Would this be considered the first true action-rpg?
Easton Cook
Do you end up using characters because they're good or do you stick to what you like?
I don't even know who this Thancred nigga is I just use him because he's strong. Luneth is my strongest unit. I just picked the game back up and I'm entirely f2p
