They're straight. My friend had one. If you want to go with a scoot that will actually last but don't want to buy a Vespa, it's pretty much a Ruckus or Zuma. They will do 35mph-40mph. Only problem with the Ruckus is you don't have the enclosed storage space and stuff. There is another Honda 50 that is more like a Zuma or Vespa with traditional fairings but it costs a bit more than the Ruckus.
