The Thancred hair is terrible on every race minus midlanders themselves. You can actually see the flat blank part at the front where it's like a helmet, and not actually attached to your head. I'd say first things are change your awful hair and hair color.

2nd, I'm glad you can match the color gold to other gold things, but it doesn't work. Too many shades of gold and then the random red/black parts that stick out and look bad.

Try experimenting with the various brown dyes and look at crafted boots.

I think you're the one "forgetting" that there's a difference between how classes perform on a striking dummy and how they perform in an actual fight.

Use leveling gear, make some cash money, get the mats and have someone craft it for you instead of buying gear off the marketboard. Once you get geared enough some of the newer entry-level gear raid looks alright like the Prototype Midan and Yafaemi sets. There's also the job-specific and doman styled gear you can buy with centurio seals at the forgotten knight. The opportunities are endless.
