Reminder to report and ignore shitposting.

Based.

what is the colonial genoese empire meme?

>How fares your empire, /gsg/?

/gsg/ is a community by every definition of the word.

You are all my friends.

Fuck you, you're shit at gs games and a fucking loser

*kisses you*

I'm absolutely terrible at /gsg/s but that doen't change the facts.

Thank you for that digital smooch friend.

But user, friendship is a social contract between two parties, one cannot enter a social contract of this type with a person they do not know, as most people within gsg are annonymous, we cannot enter a social contract of this type with each other, as such we are not friends, by definition.

>community
see the image in this post

>/gsg/ is a community by my personal meme definition of the word.
Fixed that for you, now go back home. I'll even help you out just follow this simple link reddit.com/

See pic related.

They ask for a job, they get given a time to show up.

> 70%=>95% is the same as 15%=>60%
Oh and if you plan to "extrapolate" from these, please do keep in mind urbanisation, size and cultural unity, of france, as compared to russia.

In a sense you are right, but in this case I use friend in a much broader way. I am well aware that you anons and I aren't "friends" in the way that I might be with my roommate, or my coworkers, or my girlfriend's sister or what have you, but rather that I think of all of you as a sort of friend, as I enjoy your thoughts, ideas, and idiosyncracies. Perhaps you're right, and friend is the wrong word, but it serves its purpose well enough for me. I'm sorry if it offends you!

You're absolutely right in that reddit is a form of community, but so is Veeky Forums, and even /gsg/ within that. We all engage in grand strategy games, and post within a loosely defined structure of shared expectations. Even shitposting is within those expectations; despite our collective distaste for it, it is nonetheless a concrete part of out interactions here.

How would you anons define a community? I'm interested in what you have to say!

Why are you even so triggered that /gsg/ is a community? I really do not understand why does this bother you.

Doesn't make us friends.
>despite our collective distaste for it
There's no such thing, fuck off back to l*ddit with your meme collectivist bullshit.
It's a community strictly speaking, but I'm opposed to the way he uses it since he suggests we become something more than strangers by by simply "sharing" a "digital space"

at the end of the day you're getting triggered because someone called you a friend over the internet

really makes one think

>In a sense you are right, but in this case I use friend in a much broader way. I am well aware that you anons and I aren't "friends" in the way that I might be with my roommate, or my coworkers, or my girlfriend's sister or what have you, but rather that I think of all of you as a sort of friend, as I enjoy your thoughts, ideas, and idiosyncracies. Perhaps you're right, and friend is the wrong word, but it serves its purpose well enough for me. I'm sorry if it offends you!
I think that "Friendly" is a much better term to use, it denotes a demeanour rather than a relationship, and thus is far more appropriate for the type of community Veeky Forums is and, more importantly, does not require assent of the other party.

Because they are bored shitposters, why else. Well maybe they dislike obligation you put on others by declaring them friends, but that is unlikely.

Lad, I've already said, the Russian government actively tried to prevent the populace becoming literate until the reforms and the foundation of Zemstvo communities which formed schools. Had they wanted to they could have had a literate population through funding, they simply didn't want to.

HPM once posted a great picture of Spain's literacy blowing up, I've been scouring the archive to find it for the last half an hour but I can't find it.

Good thread.

I'm not his friend though. He didn't use the meme version of friend like you would put at the end of a sentence either, he literally said we were friends. I'm sorry that I still care about words and their non-delusional definitions.

I think you are failing to understand that there is more than one user arguing with you, and thus more than one viewpoint. However, I'm yet to see a single user say that your point about priorities of Russian Kings is wrong, so far everyone has been trying to explain to you why calling such ludicrous jumps as 15=>60 realistic, within context, is stupid.

How do I mod a decision that turns 1% of all my pops Jewish?

>Because they are bored shitposters, why else. Well maybe they dislike obligation you put on others by declaring them friends, but that is unlikely.
Those things aren't mutually exclusive and I'd say it's about 30:70

Friendly is a much better word, thank you for your well reasoned posting.

I was very distinct in my post about where I stood on my use of the word "friend," although this poster provided a mich better explanation and alternative word.

I never implied that we weren't strangers user, a community can be formed entirely of relative strangers. I know nothing of you personally, so one could say that we are in fact strangers. However, through shared participation in /gsg/, it would be erroneous to say that we don't have more in common than two faceless people passing in the street.

That wasn't the same poster, user.

I still say it would be possible if enough funding was given. There are countless examples of middle eastern countries that did this in the 20th century but apparently electricity means children learn easier. Persia under the Shah did it, Gadaffi did it, Assad I did it, but these are all dismissed. I honestly can't comprehend how electricity can make education easier. It's not like sunlight or candlelight didn't exist two centuries ago.

Not him but he's right, that jump in literacy is far from ludicrous.

Eastern Europe jumped 60% in fucking 20 years.

>we don't have more in common than two faceless people passing in the street.
That's pretty much the level we're at (i'm talking about you and me right now since I don't speak for every single person here like you claim to), it might be even worse though if you are a socialist or anything like that.

lads?

Based slav defending my viewpoint.

I'm not claiming to speak for everyone here. I'm speaking as an independent member of the community, in regards to my opinions about that community.

Why would you want that?

yeah, it jumped from 30 percent to 60 during the 20th century, while it was mostly static during the 19th century

Because I want to turn Madagascar Jewish but I'd need some Jewish pops there to begin with.

There is no community though if you aren't addressing the single point we have in common - grand strategy games.

people who browse /gsg/ have more in common than just grand strats

it's shitposting

And neofascism.

You really don't comprehend what a boon electricity is. Spend one week on a vacation without it and it will be easier to appriciate just how important it is to modern lifestyle, and thus to education system that relies on modern lifestyle. This is in addition to modern infrastracture, culture that encourages education due to higher wages for the educated, etc, etc, etc. To implement level of progress required for a jump in literacy of 45%, especially 45% near bottom, in 1836 on the scale of the russian empire, you'd need to tank the entire world economy of 1836 twice over, and institute a political regime that makes stalin, mao and hitler blush.

This isn't true, more accurately would be to say people who visit the same sports bar. Analogy is imperfect since it would require everyone to wear KKK style robes... oh wait.

wrong

Sick of this fucking event, I don't even have the theology or scholarship focus.

Because the Tsars didn't want them to be literate. He literally just proved that it is easy to increase literacy by large amounts and your response is "yeah but it didn't happen, s-so there!"

That would be people who browse Veeky Forums.
I'm not a leftist though.
Nice attempt at a joke, that was really quite funny.
If you think your analogy was even half decent consider offing yourself.

Actually, even if we never even discus grand strategy, our all being here talking makes us a community regardless.
This guy gets it.

Moving on from community-based shitposting, what should be my plans for a Großamalfiums?

I was thinking Duchy of Salerno, Krete, Cyprus, Malta for sure, and then on the maybe list Sardinia, Corsica, Mallorca, Siciliy, the Sinai, the Cyclades.

Stalin was a fascist, even though he wouldn't admit it himself.

That was different, they used electric books on the kids' electric brains.

Ishlam is a religious of piece.

>That would be people who browse Veeky Forums.

But not our special brand of shitposting. For fucks sake the threads are basically cryptic if you haven't spend at least a few months to get all the fucking memes in here.

It doesn't, I don't have anything in common with you therefore I'm not the member of your little community. You can say that there is a community of 5 retards just like you who consented to being in this community, but you can't apply the same reasoning to the entire thread.
it's not that special tbqh

Yeah, because an increase of 30 percent over 30 years in the 20th century in countries that had probably a relatively large urban population is really comparable to a 15>60 jump in rural agrarian russia.

If you are actively participating in this thread, you are by definition a member of the community, like it or not. You can keep REEEEEing over something so incredibly inconsequential, you can say shit like "reddit" and "meme definitions," but it won't change the facts.

I'm sorry user, if you don't want to be considered part of the community just stop participating.

>If you think your analogy was even half decent consider offing yourself.
Your harsh and well argued criticism truly wounds me.

That's not terrible, though. It will probably lead to an independence revolt and straighten itself out.

>yeah, it jumped from 30 percent to 60 during the 20th century
Still in the time frame. The jump was until 1940 - 4 years after the game ends, so it's entirely possible. In asia and other places it didn't have a jump.

They didn't teach children during the night, retard. Electricity plays no role here. The jump only occurred later because later governments realized they needed literacy.

thank you comrade stalin

> Similarly, in the Red Army, where literacy and education were deemed crucial to ensure that soldiers were politically engaged with its project, illiteracy rates decreased from 50 percent to only 14 percent three years later, and 8 percent one year after that. On its seventh anniversary, the army achieved a 100 percent literacy rate, an immense accomplishment, even if short-lived, as new conscripts made continual education necessary.

I'm a member of the community called /gsg/ that likes grand strats, nothing more. Not the community with the views you've implied multiple times. Keep your personal friendship bullshit contained to yourself or go find people who will explicitly agree with you to form a community of like minded retards.
If you think that wasn't in any way a well argued criticism consider offing yourself.

It's really amazing what kind of things can tick off people.

Are you, by any chance, german, perhaps?

The difference being, a far higher industrialization which in turn means a higher concentration of people in urban centers. But I guess that doesn't affect education in any way whatsoever.

So being grouped in with """people""" like that retard who claims to speak for the entire thread wouldn't make you even slightly opposed? I'd say something is wrong with you if that's the case.
>Are you, by any chance, german, perhaps?
Nope, what makes you think so?

germanics are particularly autistic

>So being grouped in with """people""" like that retard who claims to speak for the entire thread wouldn't make you even slightly opposed? I'd say something is wrong with you if that's the case.
Well, see here, I don't care what he thinks about my membership in this, or any community, I don't care if he starts saying that we are all here because we like MLP, the only reason I engaged him in any discussion on topic of ? "friend" is because he was, apparently in good faith, failing to see that he is demonstrably wrong, Why you on the other hand so outraged by claims of an irrelevant user, presents far more interesting question.

And yet here we are, 60 posts on with not a whiff of video game discussion. I've told you that my positive opinion of posters is personal and not an attribute of the community. I'm beginning to realize that grasping these concepts is difficult for you, but you must realize that you are categorically wrong in how you view /gsg/ in the context of community. I won't waste your time with responses after this one, as I'm sure you have better things to do than fumble with ideas you're unable to grasp.

I can't tell if communityposting is worse than discordposting.

Is there a way to make event that makes all POPs of a certain culture become slaves?

...

>eastern europe
>industrialized

Most of the population of russian live in the west anyway, it's not like they are evenly distributed through the whole territory.

You are just nitpicking because you can't accept educational revolutions can happen in the 19th century because you think electricity is a significant factor, implying they taught children 24/7 or at night.

I'm not sure that's the case.
I don't speak to ESLs, sorry. You should've made it clear in the first post.
Nope, all posters here just share an interest in grand strategies, it's nothing more than that. If you agree with this we don't have anything more to discuss. Don't try to use meme words like community to try to justify your bullshit and apply your personal delusions to the entire thread.

who plays at slowest speed besides me

waggle

Anyone have a link to the modern day mod for HoI3 that was in the OP?

>Nope, all posters here just share an interest in grand strategies

That's factually wrong, given the state of this thread. In fact, I'd wager they're completely irrelevant to this thread.

Not even him.

Don't you want to make all the Irish slaves?

>I am incapable of forming a cogent idea so a screech about memes until people stop bothering me

...

It's not though, you can't make the statement that all people here have something else in common since I'm a living example of that theory being false.
>i'll just use memes and meaningless words to try to sound smart xD
You sure did a good job.

Hey lads, what kingdom should I invade first, Armenia or Anatolia?

Armenia looks nicer, but Anatolia would cut the empire in half.

I dont go to cuckchan brit/pol/
theyre a bunch of cuckservatives who arent the REAL brit/pol/

Anyone have a link for the reaper's due content? The link in the OP hastebin isn't updated and the archive is a no-go for obvious reasons.

yeah i can't keep up with the faster speeds cause i'm always stoned

just fuck off already then

This. Fucking Ukippers don't even know Mosley

It'll look like shit regardless. Go Anatolia.

>It's not though, you can't make the statement that all people here have something else in common since I'm a living example of that theory being false.
Not true, I'm sure there are others here who can't form a coherent argument here, altho I do think they are a minority.

Anatolia contains one of the biggest coastal duchies in the game, so I'd go with it.

Why? /gsg/ is a CIVIC general

shut the fuck up you idiot
you singlehandedly destroyed brit/pol/ with your love of poles
we have our own board now

DUDE

The white man has grown weak from his diet of canned food and liquor

>they don't even know a leftist
Eww. Leave this thread immediately.

>everyone who disagrees with me is samefagging

You're really proving yourself right user good work :>]

I'd say Anatolia for top gore.

Don't try to to point out the other common things or anything, just assert that you're right. *kills you*
>>everyone who disagrees with me is samefagging
Was that an attempt at just posting something completely irrelevant to the conversation? You sure succeeded.

True. Hopefully one day I can make nice borders.

...

>mosley
>socialist
but that's shit

>Don't try to to point out the other common things or anything
That would require me arguing in good faith, which I gave up quite a few posts ago.

How have you not yet abandoned this run due to boredom?

>mosley
>supporting a taig sympathising cuck
oswaldmosley.com/irelands-right-to-unite/

Nah vanilla CK2 looks so ugly

You didn't even try. There's nothing else in common between ALL posters here. You can't disprove this point no matter how hard you try cause it's simply true. Feel free to try though.

>mosley
>supporting a socialist
fixed that for you

>There's nothing else in common between ALL posters here.
i assure you, not everyone here likes gsgs at present. That's not how communities works, nor how they are defined, and your failure to comprehend this and insistence on your social independence amuses me to no end.

Are Nestorians the masterrace?
