I'd add Honda and porsche too

...

>memelaptimes
Show me your race car on the track.
Oh wait... no car bench racer

>Mazda
>worth buying

Toppest lel.

I`m surprised how not pigfat the new Miata is. Say what you want, Mazda is still doing good. Nu-Toyota on the other hand,,,,

>not wanting 40mpg, tight handling, good looks, and solid reliability
Its like youre not a car enthusiast

MR2 vs mx-5

you must choose only one.

I enjoyed my AW11 and sw20 more than my MX5

s2000

>snap oversteer
S2000 a shit
And yes ive driven many of them when i worked at honda

Damage control

HEY YOU KNOW WHATS A GREAT IDEA
MAKING ALL OUR INTERIORS LOOK THE SAME, FROM THE LOWEST TIER ECONOBOX TO OUR FUN SPORTS CARS
YEAH MAN WOOOO
OBNOXIOUS IPADSSSSSSSSSSSSS

remember when companies put effort into low budget interiors?
I'm sorry but the s2000 is objectively better to drive than the modern miata and gt86 and the mr2s

Its not an enthusiast car, its mostly for soccer moms

Sounds like you want an appliance car that will rust to pieces in 5 years.

>caring about mpg's
It's almost like you're not an enthusiast.

I will never buy anything else but a BMW or Mercedes in my life. The rest is just pointless

Enjoy your cuckmobile.

>rust
This is user error

The fuck you on about?
Also the S2000 is not objectively better. Youre just a fanboy shit poster who cant deal
You wut?
>rust meme
>only an issue on the first year of the first gen in certain climates
Lol try harder. Post pics of your geo metro btw. I wanna see your mpg car

The s2000 is objectively better. I have no idea how delusional a person can be to not agree
the gt86 and miata feel like shit in comparison

>slower than a corolla

Ive driven all three.
The S2000 is shit.
>lol no power till 20,000 rpm
May as well get a motorcycle
Its not even useable as a DD

For modern cars I'd actually have to agree.

Who gives a fuck? I have owned all three of these cars. The s2000 feels better than a tuned gt86.

My cousin has a s2000. He DDs it for 3 years now.
Never had problem and always ran great.
And 9k rpms are fucking evil combined with vtec sound.

Never drove it myself though, but I did drive a miata once. Its about as "great" as driving my current shitbox peugeot 106. Slow as fuck but funky on the handling. But thats it.

>modern bmw
Really?
Wow

>I bought a nipmobile cause its [s] cheapest [/s] the best car ever made
you weebs are a entertaining bunch

The miata love is fucking mostly hype and delusion
it does not handle better than any other extremely light weight car

>I have owned all three
>My cousin
Kek sure thing

What else is there to buy for the car enthusiast these days

>you're wrong because I say so

More people agree with the s2000 being the better than those other cars, stop being contrarian learn to admit you're wrong.

Nissans aren't bad right?

I could really enjoy owning a S14-B, I think.

>most other people
Not anyone ive talked to
An S2000 is annoying to drive unless youre full throttle all the time.

>toyota and mazda make the only enthusiast cars
wew lad, you hear that people? throw away your BMW, mercs audis alfas cause aparently Japs are the only ones making good cars

this BMW has slowly become the worst of the 3 big German luxury manufacturers
>pic related obviously #1

Nissans are shit m8. Terrible build quality and cheap out on important parts

I mean, how are those cars for the enthusiast?
>implying I said toyota and mazda make the only enthusiast cars

THE ONLY TWO BRANDS THAT ARE CANCER

He didnt say that
>german cars
>enthusiast
Kek
More like delousionists

Well. You're wrong. Your need for low end grunt is what has caused all the cars we get to be complete dog shit. Congrats.
Don't buy a sports car for comfort.

The only mass production German car manufacturer making enthusiast cars is Porsche

>Well. You're wrong cuz i say so!!!!

BMWs are still more sporty than Mercedes and Audi is shit.
If anyone, you're deluded here.
The M2 is one of the best new drivers cars you can buy

Yeah. Grow up dude. Losing your shit over nothing. I'm done here. You're not an enthusiast.

I just throw some random names, I didn't specified these had to be German which is the opposite of what this board has become which is basically

>jerk off to weeb cars
>spam about weeb cars being the only choice
>ignoring the whole automotive world cause WEEBCARS!
>WEEB
>WEEB
>WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEB!!

BMW cars are ugly and too luxury to be enthusiast.
It's because almost no other company is making enthusiast cars in such massive quantities .

they could have redeemed themselves but they decided it would be better to scrap it and then make the next Z a crossover

>calls him self a car enthusiast.
>is narrow minded as fuck
If thats what being an enthisiast is. Ill pass.

>i have no argument so ill make a strawman

>M2 is one of the best new drivers cars you can buy
Is it a sports car?
Is it a luxury car?
Is it a touring car?
No one knows
And thats why bmw sucks.
That and sub par reliability

Too luxurious to be enthusiast cars?
How is the 3 or 2 series "too luxurious"?
And because a car is ugly it cant be an enthusiasts cars jesus fuck youre absolutely retarded

>It's because almost no other company is making enthusiast cars in such massive quantities .
define what makes an "enthusiast car" and what does mass quantity have to do with it

>more sporty
you expect me to take you seriously with that 3rd grade writing

Light weight, good feedback, an engine with fun behavior (not necessarily power) a fun solid gearbox

It's a sports coupe you imbecile.

If a Civic Type R isn't a sports car than neither is a 3 or 2 series

Not him, but.
>enthusiasm
intense and eager enjoyment, interest, or approval.

Not sure why everyone on Veeky Forums thinks you can only be enthusiastic about certain cars

"fun" is subjective you stupid shit

It's too fucking heavy and disconnected from the road to be an enthusiast car.

>BMW cars are ugly
dude, japs make the worst looking cars since for ever, what the fuck are you talking about? and since when is luxury a no-no in a "enthusiast car"

I would NEVER classify it as that.
Nor would anyone else

Not an argument.
>attacking a tiny part of a post instead of the overall argument
They're all ugly after E30

Mazda has no 200hp at its current line up. How can they be enthusiasts cars whrn theyre slow garbage?
Never heard of enthusiast giving a shit about muh placebo eempeegee

>disconnected from the road
kek, you're fucking clueless.
BMW M cars have always had the best steering feel and the best road feel, that's why it has grown a huge enthusiast community.
You're just close minded

>Toyota in 2016

they've both made a handful worth buying since 1979 but been mostly churning out nondescript appliances.
but that could apply to almost every mass market manufacturer so what makes these two special? nothing

>giant family sedan within less than a second of a hot hatch meant for performance
Based mazda

enthusiast=/= power and speed

>needing power and speed to get to work
Or do you work as a race car driver?

>Light weight
wrong, it doesnt have to be a featherweight to be enjoyable
good feedback,
k
>an engine with fun behavior (not necessarily power)
k
>a fun solid gearbox
whatever that means

there is a fuckton of other cars that fill those cathegories and are not weebmobiles

You're just a fanboy who has no experience. I understand. I was 16 once too.

>ND transmission failures
>doing good

You're just being dismissive for no reason. What's your problem? If you don't know what it means then you shouldn't be in this argument
>admitting ignorance in an argument
This is fucking 101 shit. Now I can just call you an idiot.

>mazda says they're too mature to make any more mazdaspeeds
>doing good

>their all ugly after the E30
gotta argue the E46 and E39 were bretty good but after that absolutely

they're just glad to finally have an engine making the torque to do that (all 150lbft of it)

>Ignoring the truth just to argue

>[modern car design intensifies]

>mazda says the speed line will return, as well as rotary, as well as a rwd lineup
The news has more than negative things you can use to troll

That stuff gets praise and I respect it for the time but it just looks like a boring sedan to me and then you get that awful modern BMW front end.
I can understand the understated appeal of the e46 and e39

looks fast though

The E46 M3 weighs the same and it's literally one of the best drivers cars of all time.
Because a car weighs over 3000lbs it isn't a "sporty"?
driving.co.uk/car-reviews/the-clarkson-review-2016-bmw-m2/
You're clueless, go drive something else other than Jap shitboxes once in your life.

Typical bmw cuck

sporty doesn't mean enthusiast. sporty is the lifestyle compromise people talk themselves into to feel better.

and it's not about the weight its about the car.
a GT350R is an enthusiast car, your car isn't

>The E46 M3
>literally one of the best drivers cars of all time.

yeah tell us about it, how the M2 is not an enthusiasts car, genuinely curious
Is it because it lacks power?
Worse price per lap time ratio?

I don't think you understand
CARS THAT MAKE THE PENIS FEEL GOOD ARE ENTHUSIAST.

it doesnt feel good
when i look at an m2 my heart doesnt go fast
when i drive an m2 my penis doesnt get hard
fast? sure
but it doesnt feel good

yeah, your muscle car is not a better drivers car

Wheres your drivers car?
Since youre defending them this hard.
Do you have an M2?

Have you driven one? It's fucking phenomenal , and it can turn now

Luxury car is not sports car and is therefor not enthusiast car

>paul walker loved M3s, obviously he was a typical BMW cuck and not a real enthusiast!

Relax dude

Did I say it was? It is though, and it's not close. It has no power anything, no accessories, weighs 2700lbs, and was raced extensively in stock form. The E46 M3 is a pseudo luxury car made for commuting. If you want to call the E30 M3 a drivers car I'd agree, but that was the last one BMW made aside from the unobtainium GTS cars.

I have a superior car - an E36 M3 aka the best handling car in America of the 90's
In that case Porsche has not made a single production sports car or enthusiasts car, wow

wasnt that beaten by a honda prelude

>people get enthusiastic about geo metros
>entire forums dedicated to them
But not an enthusiast car right?

>In that case Porsche has not made a single production sports car or enthusiasts car, wow
Just going off the rules you set
Yeah
>e36m3
Lol slower than a corolla

The E46 M3 was heavy-ish but it was purely made for driving pleasure (and it does it damn well)
There is a reason they're still very popular track cars with stripped interiors
I can't find a single flaw on a 6 speed E46 M3 coupe, except that it's not as reliable as a Corolla
even if it is slower, so what?
weren't you people saying earlier that a cars speed and power doesn't define its "enthusiast-ness" i.e a car doesnt need to be fast and powerful to be fun?
