did you mean viper swaps?

LS swaps make me zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

You mean, Lets put a Hyundai v6 in a Porsche 911

but isn' it a new hyundai v6 with 350hp?

Did you mean snek swaps?

2 most boring engine swaps in existence

>2016
>not swapping in an ecoboost

...

but its slower then a hybrid

...

>then
underageb& pls go

...

Why would you do this
Why would anyone ever do this

stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/5691330571.html

because you're a fucking idiot who thinks its the 90s or some shit

...

>single exhaust

Why.exe

more reliable
more power
actually a cool swap

>tfw engine costs more than the car itself

Yeah, but they plan on boosting the hell out of it.

They got 1k out of it before.

Okay, that's impressive.

>own slow as shit 2007 lexus is250 6spd with 145k miles
>see 2002 is300 sportcross for sale with 85k miles for $8800

Should I sell my 250? I don't think I could get the $8800 for it. There's nothing wrong with the 250 but I just really want a sportcross and would ls swap it in the future. There's literally nothing cost effective you can do to a 250 to make it faster.

Currently working on a VQ35de swap into my shitbox AE86

>Why a VQ ?
It was FREE

I have the Z rear end too but not sure if I can fab that to fit

...

That fixes that

>$500 and an afternoon

...

Always had a fascination with monster miatas. I disqualify myself from owing a miata as they're the queen of all gay little fagcars. Somehow that all changes with a swap. Now you have hp:lb ratios that rivals supercars, all in an often lighter package.
Fag car becomes sleeper, the contrast somehow makes it appealing.

Nope. Maybe if you're retarded .

>350-400hp
>with minimal weight distribution or balance changes
>low end torque for driftu

100% fixed

It would be a blast to drive one, but I feel like being 2006+10, there are so many smaller turbocharged engines where you could strip the thing and keep it go kart light while still having 300HP+. The torks might not be there right away like the V8 but I doubt you would have to get on it much to break the thing loose from the asphalt.

Or turbocharge the V8 and chirp the tires shifting into 4th gear.

because dual exhaust wouldn't tuck into the chassis properly and drag on the ground all the time. A single 3in exhaust is plenty for a fairly mild LQ4.

Uh huh. Nope. Learn about cars.

Guess I'll bring the ND

oh, please elaborate oh wise one

why is the stock GT86 Superior to
an LS Swap GT86?

>weight?
>balance?
>weight shift in hard acceleration?
>weight shift in braking?
>center of gravity cuz my boxer?

Photoshop + 10000 hours

Because an engineer put one together and a 16 year old put the other together.

Excuse me when did I argue that? Don't make strawmen.
Why do these new kids have to be so hostile and petty all the time

>michigan

>tfw LS1 stock and lsd rear

muh pontiac

>where you could strip the thing and keep it go kart light while still having 300HP+

the difference between a 1.8l BP and a fully aluminum LS engine is like 100 lbs

a turbo 4 banger build will easily weigh more. with less optimal distribution

>eurotrash stance fag

oh, right

I came here to post this

now that we are seeing R32 GTR's hit the states i'll be excited to see some small block powered godzillas running around

>LS
>good

top kek

I forgot to upload my meme my bad

>a base model V6 f150 is almost as fast as a million dollar hybrid V8
Really makes you think, huh?

I wish I had the link but this guy on youtube ls swapped his , I wanna say boxter, and not only did it make more power it was actually a lighter car!
Pretty cool, although I still like Porsche engines

>it was actually a lighter car!
I'll give you a tip; it was the lack of all the accesories

Yeah the 4 door ones are usually fairly cheap, as are most of the 2 wheel drive coupes especially with an automatic. Considering engine parts aren't available at US auto part stores or Nissan dealers I wouldn't be surprised if someone says "fuck it" and throws an ls1 in rather than wait for parts to ship from Japan.

So what sort of interesting and/or engine crazy swaps have you done kid? Shit you did in a video game doesn't count by the way.

>americans are unironically going to swap LS into skylines

Deal with it weeb

enjoy spending 15k just to be slower than an inline 6 one

Are you aware of how the front diff goes in a gtr?

How do you feel about the lsd?

Fuck that, just dump a Vette drivetrain into it. It'll save weight on top of making more power and being more reliable.

The stock GT86 is shit. Non-shit engine helps.

Unless you're got an engineering team ready to fab a LOAD of shit for you or you're doing a RWD conversion you're not gonna be able to LS swap a GTR.

People have already LS-swapped the RWD GTS variants though.

I reckon it's no loss if they're doing it to NA RB20 models though something like a VQ swap would be cooler. Just jam the RB20 in something like a 240SX and boost it later.

someone said LS swap?

>FWD LS1 2000 Impala

>LS4 swapped Pontiac Fiero

>LS1 swapped fox body Mustang

>it's a bird
>it's a plane
>it's an ls1

So why the fuck bother with paying out the ass for a gtr instead of getting a GT or gtt?

>Just jam the RB20 in something like a 240SX and boost it later.

Let's make it twice as heavy, with no fucking torque, what a great idea.

>implying the Americans would be the first to LS swap a Skyline.
Blame the Australians.

RB engines are heavy as fuck though, especially when compared to the LS V8's. There is such a thing as front/rear weight distribution.
A lot of drifters are ignoring the RBs and SR's and are instead swapping in LS engines since it leaved the weight balance very close to stock and you get all that glorious aftermarket support for the engine.

I didn't know I was getting memed this hard back in 2005, I could do a ls4/northstar swap today if need be. (cost and skill wise). I think we were doing gm 3800 swaps?

is there a bigger sin?

here's one with a twin turbo 1UZ-FE swap.

thats a viper engine

just why? the 2jz is the perfect engine. Why do they do this?

Because sometimes you do things just for variety and because you can. It's more creative than a fucking LS swap either way.

>the 2jz is the perfect engine.
>heavier than either V8
>not capable of as much power
>muh displacement

I'll just leave this one here and you fags can argue about it.

Theyre still garbage and drives like shit kys

All of these are false. No enthusiast would ever say this

That's pretty cool. I would love to throw an airplane engine in a car. 460ci turbocharged Continental.

That thing isn't even stanced. The white wheels are tacky but I would still drive the hell out of an E36 with a blown LS.

>Putting a bulging hood on when LS is low enough that stock hood would fit fine
Who would ever think this is a good idea?

how.....

>TIL that buying into "premium brand" bs is being an enthusiast.

Go try and defend your definition of "enthusiast" on reddit.

Damn son, finally a reliable RX7.

>blame

You say that like they made it worse. Get fucked riceboi, go watch InitialD

kek its gonna be faster than sitting in the shop waiting on the nips to get their irradiated ass in gear to ship you parts cause youre a special snowflake with a meme car

make way for the og

Built Ford tough with Chevy stuff

Mein penor. I can see the liftoff oversteer now

to make it more like the alpine a310

>Get wrecked Porsche for cheap
>Put whatever cheap motor you want in it

>FWD
So mad that the Impala was never a real competitor to the Crown Vic. And I can never find a good Caprice in the Midwest

Notice the radiator support was cut to get the fucker in. You can see one of the radiator cooling fans tucked behind one of the lower openings.

Their face when you just started playing russian roulette when you installed that corvette engine in a gay shit box.

>northstar swap
never

>an engineer
You mean a design team cucked by requirements on things like emissions, fuel consumption, noise, safety, working with another company, muh heritage, cost to mass produce and so on?

Those had LS4's stock. Not LS1's

the LS4 didn't come around until 2006. That picture was taken in 2000. It's an LS1. The car was a Chevrolet concept built by Jon Moss. It IS a 5.7L LS1. Look closely and you'll see the "5.7L" on the engine cover. It had a special adapter plate to allow the engine to bolt up to the FWD transaxle. That car was built before the 2004-2005 Supercharged Impala SS's, and uses the 2000-2005 Impala body style. All the factory LS4 Impala's used the 2006-2015 body style.

Shit, my bad, I'm just hung over as all fuck right now.
