Sorry for repeat question, but I'm playing Military in CoC 1.4.03 and the guy in the eco bunker doesn't have the dialogue option to have him make me a psi-protector.

Do I get it somewhere else? Do I just not need one to enter those areas as Military? Or is it bugged?

I've never played stalker.

In order of release, patch or get ZRP if you want a less buggy first time.
Change your grass settings using r__detail_ commands.
Don't enable AA, turn sun settings to mid or low and turn down your object detail and vision distance.
Maybe install Atmosfear (weather) or Absolute nature depending on what game you're playing.

ok here's what I did, I used a bunch of scientific medikits (I read somewhere that they cause tiredness as a side effect) and that did it.

Perfectly fine once you fix the bug that murders your fps when looking at fires, but that's a vanilla issue.
There is also the regular stutter when the game spawn things. I don't think I've experienced any issues directly related to the mod itself.

It's lacking some quests from 2.1, has a couple extra maps that are empty save for some tiring fetch quests. Most people use the skip patch to skip those new maps. What it does have is a couple of weapon pack merges - Lost Soul, Enot.

use your brain and create a section with the right name, preferably by copypasting the ammo_12x76_slug section or whatever it's called

just FYI that's shotgun ammo. CTRL+F 'buckshot' or 'shot' should get you to the shotgun ammo defs

They took 2.1 apart for 2.2 and never finished putting it back together. Likewise, the new maps didn't get all the love in terms of content. Yeah, the Zaton start patch that skips swamps and cordon, 2 of the new maps in 2.2, because you know they're so full of great new content for you to play.

AO for CoC 1.4 continues to be the piece of shit it was for 1.3.20 and earlier. Stalkersoup no longer holds the record for laser beam shotguns, AO even enables tracers to let you know you're being killed by buckshot from a mile away.

Hope STCoP gets fixed up for 1.4 soon and doesn't have the broken stash and weapon distribution that makes stashes overflow with every gun and weapon addon in the game.

I don't really 'get' Freedom. Do they actually consider themselves 'anarchists' or is that just what Duty pejoratively calls them? They have leaders and they do good things sometimes (like guarding the barrier), but then for some reason they're neutral with Bandits. Why are they okay with bandits?

You have reading comprehension issues: I criticized AO not CoC. Likewise the shotguns and AO's shitty balance in general.

CoC does have all the shit, it's just packed in .db files in database folder. Unpack those.

bruv, that's SoC thing only. Actually, the thing not mentioned anywhere in international version, wikis or whatever that I know of is that Lukash is actually a stand-in leader. See, the actual leader took a squad and left for the Radar not long before SoC story start. After Strelok disabled the Radar, squad and the leader were found alive(mentioned by both Freedom and Duty, leader is never seen in-game) Now think about it:
1. After CS events, Chekhov is eventually killed(Snitch in SoC mentions it)/disappears, so Snitch might not be talking about him, Freedom is pushed off Dark Valley into the Warehouses by Duty, Dark Valley is taken over by Borov and his men.
2. Just so they don't get overrun and buttfucked by fanatics, they have to guard the Barrier.
3. Leader takes a squad and goes to Radar in effort to disable it and drive Monolith back, but disappears.
4. In the ensuing power struggle Lukash goes out on top.
5. Since Duty have them cut off the fresh supply of recruits, Lukash has to make truce with bandits so they don't have to deal with another enemy at their back. Also has to resort to accepting some questionable elements, which leads to Loners resenting them for a bit.
6. Marked One disables the Scorcher, Leader is found alive, comes back and breaks off the truce with the bandits(Freedom and Bandits are hostile in CoP).

I'm gonna elaborate a bit, the reason I say the bandit faction is one of the most illogical "factions" in STALKER is because we can safely assume that people who become bandit are "bandits" in the real world or people who couldn't cut it in the zone and wanted an easy way to make money. So the question is why are all the bandits wearing bandit identifiable gear? Doesn't that kinda defeat the point of them? If they wore gear Loners wore they could get up close and have an easier time doing their job. The issue is that the bandits are bandits in the open instead of trying to hide it for everyone else. They could simply use a sound/sign to identify themselves among other bandits.

In misery mod, there are loner visuals for bandits and vice-versa. They still shoot you the moment they saw you though.

Once in trade_generic.ltx at [generic_sell]
And a few times in barman_supl.ltx and barman_trade.ltx. in [barman_after_brain] and [barman_after_brain_sell] respectively.

How do I comment things out in .ltx files?
Since I want to easily reset the changes I make in case shit doesn't work.
