Daily reminder that all emulators should have libretro API support in their upstream codebases :)

>:)
Kill yourself.

...

You fucks use smileys all the time so I should too ;)

Fix emulator immediately or face my wrath.

*brandishes katana*

Off to a good start

is pcsx2 still shit?

It got better, still kinda shit.
Latest development is that most games with mipmapping problems got fixed to various degrees.

All emulators are shit, use the real hardware like a true gamer.

Back to

Why are transgendered emudevs so superior to cisgendered emudevs?

in order to do emulation, you must first be emulation.

Is there a way to change the save directory for PPSSPP stand-alone?

so what's the big deal with this vulcan shit?

how do I use msu1 shit on retroarch? the ancient stone tablets project just finished and I wanted to try it out

boards.fireden.net/_/search/boards/v.vg/text/what deal vulkan/
IIRC you load the .bml file.

hm, it seems to come with a .msu file instead of a .bml

ah never mind, found the .bml in a different folder. game launches to a black screen though

So mednafen_psx_hw crashes when I try to load a game.
Log is not very helpful and my gpu should support opengl 3.3. What do?

buy a better emulator.

How does it crash exactly?

So it's more low-level and therefore potentially more performant, but instead of the software crashing the entire video driver or system will crash?

IIRC the one on the buildbot is broken and there's a working version elsewhere, but I only remember that from an emugen post and it might have been like a week ago. I have no other information.

Nah, I got mine from there like yesterday and it works just fine.

As soon as I select the game to load it I get this big ass white screen with the "retroarch has stopped working" window.

Log doesn't look helpful but here it is pastebin.com/bkN2iA35

Mmh, that looks nasty. I really have to force myself to test on Windows.

mooch is more of a dev than mudlord ever will be

>RetroArch [INFO] :: [GL]: Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc., Renderer: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 Series.
That's probably why. Shit has terrible/buggy support for OpenGL.

Shouldn't crash like this though, unless the driver is shitty enough to crash on its own.

> api supported by like 6 major vendors
> program only works with one

Maybe we should just stop dicking around and call it nVidiaGL

Maybe try a clean retroarch.cfg.

>mooch is more of a dev than mudlord ever will be
mudlord is way more skilled than u, mooch

try turning off all your shaders before loading the game?

It's a ruse.

Make sure you're not using vulkan as your video backend driver.

considering i got slower blitting performance when using vulkan instead of ogl, in RA, I'd have to agree...

vita emulation when?

As soon as you go one year without asking.

give me 10minutes.

Will I ever be able to emulate JSRF?

Why user, you already can! at 2 fps

>so what's the big deal with this vulcan shit?
It makes GPU accelerated rendering accurate. Mostly applies to N64 and gen6 hardware, and the emulator must be written from the ground up to take advantage of it.

>but instead of the software crashing the entire video driver or system will crash?
No.

what did he mean by this

If XBOX emulation ever becomes more than a proof of concept then yeah, it looks like it's not one of "those" games.

hps2x64 is going to surpass it soon

Surpass it at being shit?

Where does /emugen/ get their roms from.

From the various links in the wiki.

>It makes GPU accelerated rendering accurate.
doesn't OGL 4.3 and DX11 also support compute shaders?

Basically the successor to OGL as a platform available to practically every OS out there. The fact that it's low level gives more freedom to the developer to make the application run with all the available resources. It's the competitor to DX12 and everyone should be pushing it given how Windows 10 is absolutely disgusting.

But does it work with an A4-4000

False positive

Just gave WiiSX-R a spin because there are zero videos of the thing running as far as I could tell. Tested MGS, Silent Hill, Castlevania Chronicles and SOTN. It was able to maintain almost full speed with both Castlevanias, but the music was FUCKED big time. Neither MGS nor SH had any noticeable graphical bugs, but atrocious audio and pretty meh performance. thanks for reading my blog on a fork no one cares about and hasn't been updated in 6 months.

Yeah whatever

>google A4-4000
>find out about the GPU in the APU
>look at Vulkan specs
>???
>profit

and for funsies, I recorded the emulators rendition of Vampire Killer. Enjoy

vocaroo.com/i/s07cp8YheU9A
and heres what it should sounds like
youtube.com/watch?v=1jgtTazV8yY

Well

Looks like it doesn't

I remember trying to play FF8 with that like fucking 10 years ago.

There were graphical glitches everywhere, it was kind of fun.

Sounds like it's just not running fullspeed.

I dunno know man. The actual game played fine and the built in framerate counter never went under 58 during that whole recording.

Shitty mobile support plus a ton of other baggage. Nobody is going to backport GPU AngryLion to your craptop.

But SP promised!

Seeing that I didn't get too great in performance with vulkan using RA, I don't see a point in exclusively using vulkan.

>the emulator must be written from the ground up to take advantage of it.

Notch is buying Veeky Forums

i know holy shit
Veeky Forums is probably only worth like $50,000, maybe even less
this is gonna be rad

Reminder that emulation is illegal.

that looks like a legal document.
pretty sure it's illegal to distribute that without permissions. I would contact Nintendo and ask mom if it's okay.

>/b/ is at 700M posts

That's almost a billion shitposts

>/b/ isn't the yardstick of modern intellectual thought

you have no idea what you're talking about you rentiferous festigio.

Back again with VC shit
mega.nz/#F!u0ckXLoI!9FHoV0bIikOUgnnaHI3iEQ

If you're dumb enough to buy GBA VC on the wii U you're dumb enough to dump it for me to pull the .gba files from, it takes 20 seconds to dump a wii u VC title.

github.com/dimok789/ddd/releases

does wii retroarch support shaders? if no, why?

That last point is loaded and biased as shit. Nintendo trying to sway readers.

I guess when people are ripping Wii games from their own Wii, the devices are part of the illegal process too.

I dont know if I should ask here or not, but im trying to play Burn Cycle from CD-I using MESSUI and im having problems with the emulation of this game. The sound stutters and the video too. it might be the game? the emulator? or some settings?

MESS version is 0.178
Specs
Win10
2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
Intel Core i5 6400 @ 2.70GHz

Im emulating the CD-I
The game is from here : emuparadise.me/Philips_CD-i_ISOs/Burn_Cycle_(CD-i)/92044

oh my god this game has a great soundtrack. can't help ya, but thanks for sharing.

>feel like messing around with Metal Wolf Chaos' files
>Modded Xbox's HDD crashes when I go to boot it up
>only option now is running it at 2fps on XQEMU
>takes >30 minutes to watch the 2 minute long opening FMV
Suffering.

You have to go back.

youtube.com/watch?v=T79mHN3YCI4

does pcsx2 find and apply widescreen patches automatically or do you have to place them somewhere?

It applies them automatically if you have the option on (system > enable widescreen patches).

hey andrew

Has Mooch transitioned already?
She goes by Melissa Goad now and likes her chili if you know what I mean.

github.com/MoochMcGee

Still inferior to DX12.

>Windows 10 only
I'd rather install gentoo.

Even DX12 games perform better on DX11.

That's bullshit. Most of the DX12 out there are poor ports.

apologist

Quantum Break was a title published by Microsoft itself and it performs better on DX11.

...

Of what? I don't like that DX12 is Windows 10 only but it has some things going for it like less CPU overhead and multiple GPU not being shit. The latter would be incredible since Moore's law still holds for smaller chips. Having multiple cheaper dies like how we have multiple cores on a CPU would be good for everyone. I'd rather have Vulkan succeed, but it's not only late, it has been getting new tweaks since its release.

Alright, fine I'll That's even worse since it's a port of a console game. Those aren't so good in general. I'll give you that since M$ has no excuse on making it shit.

The famicom looks better.
And if they sold it as a $30 RPi case/controller it'd be pretty neat. But that'd obviously never ever happen.

What is Mesen?

New kid on the "muh accuhurtz NES emulashun" block

Wii U emulation (specfically smash and bayonetta)?

Not yet, maybe in 6 month or so if you have a very powerful computer.

how "powerful" is pwoerful?
