A timely rescue. Thanks OP.

I love Patrician III, Anno 1404, and similar comfy games.
Should I get The Guild II, and if so, which version should I get?

>gain piety when a unit is promoted
Does this include units that start with XP from buildings and such?

Also, someone give me a good name for a batshit crazy religion that prophesies and welcomes Armageddon. My goal in this game is to nuke the absolute shit out of everyone who annoys me.

Aum Shinrikyo maybe?

That'll work. Thanks.

Civ6 feels kind of strange because your techs are comming way faster than you can build your buildings or districts

except for the very early game your production will always lag behind your tech, unless you somehow manage to completely ignore building military units without getting wiped out.

clarification: this was true for 4 and 5 as well so its not really new

What mod are you using?

It wasn't really as true in IV if you were properly utilizing slavery

It does seem really easy to hit most eurekas without going out of the way too much

is that civ 5?
what mods are you using??

Why is civ4xg less hyped to 6 than BE?

because BE was a massive pile of trash and we wont fall into the hype bait this time

Alpha Centauri nostalgia, cruelly disappointed.

>Zimbabwe
gives and extra trade route and a gold bonus for resources at destination of trade routes or something

>Cristo redentor
apparently the enlightenment civic diminishes tourism from other civs relics on you, but if you have redentor you override that defense and relic tourism acts at full strength

>Maracana
basically a better Colosseum, give two amenities or something

Civ4xg literally died for a while after the BE hype died down, it wasn't on the catalog for like a week, though its alive again its not nearly as popular as it was before

I won't blame that on BE being a massive disappointment, but it adds some context

CBP, Rise to Power and a bunch of other stuff. I assume those two are the ones you're interested in, though.

But we are hype.

Fucking...

We were hype for BE, too.

Alpha Centauri nostalgia. You can at least be sure Civ VI isn't a V clone

Damn, I was real hyped up for BE, but that had to be one of the biggest disappointment in vidya for me
After Spore of course

You settled your capital too close to his future town mate. You're at fault here.

>I won't blame that on BE being a massive disappointment
It was responsible!

Just pointing a false premise.

Thank you so much sir.

If any of you cunts exploit Yosemite instead of saving it for a national park I'm gonna shove my big stick up your ass

Surprised they went with the visual angle that they did, they arguably could have used the view from El Capitan looking down the valley to Half Dome instead of just Half Dome and Washburn. But I guess that made it easier to make it a two tile side by side instead of some three or four tile amalgamation thing.

>civ 5
hello everyone, i download the eui_v1_28g (Enhanced User Interface)
I used to have like 30 to 35 happiness, now whit eui i have like -7 happines and natural wonders gave me like -4 happines. wtf?

I wouldn't mind if he just settled one or two tiles to the right. Then I would have thanked him for saving me a settler.

I'm going to mine the shit out of it

The Aztecs are going to be super cancer, since Monty's agenda makes him hate you if you have any luxuries he doesn't.

They are going to be so snowbally, less amenity issues expanding because luxuries go to 6 cities not 4 will lead to large empires with a combat bonus from every single luxury they have leads to more expansion and so forth

Pantheons persist even after your civ has been converted to another faith but do you get them in new cities you found after converting?

It's so damn hard to make custom Vaulters that are better than the vanilla version. What the were they thinking with these guys? 25 more points than what's legal? That's almost a third more points than anyone can actually have. Absurd, completely absurd!
Need 10 points off these guys. For Endless Recycling or Deep Generator or Offense First, haven't decided, but 10 points gotta come from somewhere. But where?

At least it's in a good spot. And hey, you're Russia. Let him break his puny jaguars against your swordsmen.

been away a couple of months
is stellaris fix yet?

Anybody know how to get Vox Populi working on Linux and Wine? I can reach about 10-20 turns or so before the game just hangs on an AI turn and never continues.

P-please don't tell me to get Windows

...

Stop being a hipster

Yeah, Vaulters are some bullshit guys
But on the other hand, most other factions can compete with the very well
I mean, Vaulters can only dream of the huge armies necro's, dosh lords and wild walkers can create without that much trouble

Circumstances have forced me to use Linux, I'd rather use Windows.

You have been visited by the sleepy tsar of previews.

First Look videos and many leaks will come to you, but only if you post "Sleep tight, Ron Jeremy" in this thread.

Get fucked Ron, I dont like your memes
I would still want to see the first look tho

This should be fun. He's weaker than me and his economy has been in the shitter for at least 20 turns.

is this legit? he really looks lik Ron

Except they don't need too, because their fewer armies are going to be fully decked out in strategic gear and getting 50% more stats from it. Considering this game is far more quality than quantity, that's much better.

your economy is in the shitter
and AI dont care about economy, they cheat

Holy fuck that's so much iron.

It's CBP, so GPT is deceiving. I'm constantly getting little bonuses which keep me afloat. Also, AI doesn't cheat quite as hard in CBP.

Yeah, I set resources to abundant so I'd be sure I have enough Uranium to hoard a fucktonne of nukes.

>AI doesn't cheat quite as hard in CBP.
I don't know about that. I've seen some ridiculous snowballing in CBP.

>no hetch hetchy to dam up
Canceled my preorder

>AI doesnt cheat as hard in CBP
Man, I have seen some serious bullshit happening in CBP
>Going as Babylon, having held the highest science from ancient era to modern, by a longshot as well
>Somehow almost every AI doubles my science output in like 20 turns
>They magically get 10 techs ahead in that same timespan
I quit CBP, because the bullshit the AI manages to do seems even worse than what happens in Vanilla
Trying to do Thunderdome gets you to have 4 neighbours, each with 4 neighbours who mostly hate you and can outproduce you in anything, by a ridiculous amount
So far only way for me to succeed at higher levels, was going for the Brits at Archipelago and abuse the SotL which are fucking OP
However, Vanilla feels to boring compared to CBP

Turn 25 Viking longship rush is unstoppable

Naval is going to be even more broken, calling it now

So what bonuses do the AI get in vanilla CIV 5? Just happiness?

AI is slightly less retarded than it was on release, other than that, no.
Content patch coming this month, might make things less shit.

Starting with King and scaling up to Deity, the AI gets extra starting techs, extra defense units, extra scouts, extra workers, extra settlers (this will only be seen on Deity), a bonus to improvement speed, decreased unhappiness, faster growth, faster building, cheaper buildings and units, reduced era penalties (so growth and tech research is cheaper in the later game), extra exp for units...

Basically, they're flat out better at you at everything (except intelligently moving and goal-making, which is still a significant advantage for players)

JEWS DID 9/11

Alright... Now to piss off China by stealing those three tiles from that idiotically placed city.

So I shouldn't bother with that 50% longer golden age wonder anymore I guess.

You don't need to minmax so hard until deity. If you have fundamentals down you can afford to vary from an optimal strategy.

If you want to get good I recommend that you watch filthy robots videos. Particularly the liberty v tradition video, wonders tier list, and his city settling guide.

OCC is going to be basically domination-only at all levels above Prince, isn't it?

So does anyone have a download link for Fall From Heaven II? It looks like the old download page is down and I remember there being two patches that aren't on moddb.

Yea, the age of tall/wide is over, now you want to put cities in good spots, but have as many of them as possible.

That combined with the lack of innate city defense means that the limit on expansion will be everybodys want to expand. I really hope multiplayer is stable

TFW with global happiness gone you can finally treat captured cities like garbage and milk them for the glory of rome ;~;7

They can still spawn barbarian units on you if they stay unhappy for too long

Rome's looking strong as fuck, what with the free monuments, trading posts, roads to capital, and early Legions and Baths.

What's the shittiest civ so far?

one must train one's legions, after all

If Russia's leak is true I think they look pretty weak. Other than that I don't think England's bonuses are very good unless you get a god spawn at an intersection of like 3 continents or something. If religious victory is overpowered though the worst is Kongo since you have very little way to fight back without actual war.

>liberty v tradition
literally just never pick liberty. It's that simple

I thought it was gonna be kongo because they are the only civ with a direct malus, but their mbanzas are fucking nuts.

England doesn't seem to have a lot going for it, neither does France, although I guess the wonder production bonus is nice. Spain and Arabia also don't look that good. Spain just doesnt really get anything good besides the combat bonus and that is situational

But religious units will be absolutely decimated by war, plus even if it is a military unit that kills them they still lose influence

I'm assuming you won't be able to declare war with reckless abandon on higher difficulty levels, and being forced into a war you might not want just to prevent a religious victory will set you back severely. On the other hand if the AI is brain-dead and no challenge even on a higher difficulty level then it won't matter and Kongo's probably fine.

Really it takes a lot of "ifs" for Kongo to be bad so I'd put my money on England

Arabia looks pretty bad for multiplayer at least. Yea you are guaranteed a religion, but if you get it last all the good beliefs will probably be taken. additionally the better religious buildings require a district and two other buildings before you can use them

There is no way russias leak is true, they are just too bad, and they arent even interesting bad like sumeria they are just bad. who the fuck want one extra tile per great person

Arabia's leader ability is a little weak but their other bonuses are all good enough to use.

Mamluks looks good, and the building is dependent on the extra yields. I just don't think most buildings and improvement bonuses will be able to match the half off no pop requirements of unique districts

That's the good thing about multiple leaders, there's hope for not shit abilities, especially since the most questionable abilities seem to be leader abilities (Mvemba, Frederick, Saladin)

Right now unique districts are definitely stronger than anything else, I just don't give England's much weight since it does require a coastline to use. But I may be undervaluing that, since they can build them easier than other civs can make harbors and traders are definitely still very powerful.

What does Englands UD even do?

Bonus movement for naval units is the unique thing.

Venice was the only Civ with a direct malus, but look how (((they))) turned out

With the movement of cities away from the coast, its just not going to be that good. navies will only really be used to escort land units for invasion or nukes

Technically the iriqouis UB is almost straight up worse than the regular factory. But yea, venice sucks so i thought that kongo would suck, but i don't think religion is as important as not being able to found cities, and there ub is half off, come an era and a half erleir and gives food, while an early relic can jumpstart their production. also they will outcompete almost everybody else for the great people they want

I was saying this since they were revealed.
And no one believed me.

I was one of those people, and I'll admit you're right. I didn't realize mbanzas were fucking 1.5 eras earlier than neighborhoods or that they gave food.

Is there a video of a kongo playthrough?

Should be noted that even though mbanzas can only be built in woods or jungles, apparently builders can plant woods later in the game

filithyrobot has one on his twitch

Totalbiscuit was playing Kongo earlier I think, might be some a vod up.

This got me thinking, aside from wanting to get boats out ASAP, there's literally no reason to found on a coast, right? Even settling one tile away completely removes the possibility of being captured by a melee ship

And the only other big thing to note about planting woods is that they don't get the "old growth" bonus for national parks.

Yea, water tile yields suck shit through a crazy straw, even with fish or crab improved they are still often worse than unimproved inland resources. there is a whole thread up on civfanatics about how much traditional coast settles suck

And as kongo you arent even going to bother with natural parks anyways because naturalists cost an incredible amount of faith

It does make your city harder to siege, and potentially get you access to more sea resources. It does seem sketchy though.

Don't know if you guys watch it, but there was a Civilization reference in the newest Steven Universe short

It's actually a really solid cartoon if you're looking for something new to watch

>Paradox Games

I play Paradox games when I want to do the whole historical roleplaying thing.

I know some people try to do this with Civ but the game isn't really designed to be played that way so it doesn't work well.

I like both but for different reasons.
