You need to run the game in DX9 to force AA.

What's the best pop factor (stalker)? 0.5 doesn't seem enough especially in Zaton/Yanov/Pripyat Outskirts. 1x pop factor is way too crazy, while I was in Army Warhouses there was constant firefights with mutants or stalkers.
Should I just get DoctorX Desolation 1.2 mod and put pop factor on 1x?

It was a smaller number of Stalker spawns with the Scorcher on. I forget what the in-lore explanation was exactly, something about them being people who got trapped there after the Scorcher was turned back on.
