Towing a 53 foot trailer with a full payload is the first situation that comes to mind where 4 cylinders just probably won't do, no matter how many turbos you hook up to it.

Because my V8 will probably last a lot longer with much, much less mechanical issues due to lower RPMs over its life span. Four cylinders are too high strung and can't produce as much power as a V8 without force induction and beefed up bottom ends.

Meanwhile, in the wonderful land of "cost" I can take the same money to get 400hp out of a coke bottle and make my behemoth of an engine double its power.
