Black Oak is a 300 mile round trip from where I live. That is 300 miles just to get to and from the start point, not counting any miles racked up on the routes. And most of that 300 miles is boring shit Central Valley. 300 miles corresponds to .5% of my recently rebuilt engines life. .5% to hang out with a bunch of autists and drive through the Central Valley.

Rent a comfybox like a challenger for like $35. The central valley is only about an hour of suffering between Tracy and Oakdale, the rest is at least hills and interesting despite the RV plague.
Then hit up some really awesome passes - I even manage to have semi decent fun on them in my unbalanced, top heavy underpowered brick of a jeep.
It's fun to experience something different once in a while, at least give it a try.
