just buy an older ford ranger its not like they dont exist

But its not you kike.
Get a tacoma or older ranger or canyon.

Google 'chicken tax' and learn

>'chicken tax'
neg
that's only to do with imports. CAFE is based on vehicle footprint so small or midsized trucks have impossible fuel economy standards, that is why even the smallest pickups are fuckhuge by old standards

Wait wait wait
So pic related can get 19mpg on its best day, but if you put a bed on the back of it, its illegal?

They regulate the average MPG of every car sold by the make. Very few Vipers are sold, so the Dart makes up for it more than enough. Meanwhile, pickups are the best sellers in each American brand that makes a pickup.

So?
There is no reason a modern light truck cant get 30+mpg
Its not hard to do

The Coloraydo isn't thaaat big, at least compared to a fulll sized modern truck. If you think it's too big maybe a truck isn't for you.

Vehicles aren't going to get any smaller anytime soon so you might as well live with it.

no market
anything smaller than a "midsize" an suv can do.

>no market
Youre a tard

I thought I was the only one bothered by this

I'm really hoping this happens soon and they quit it with the tax nonsense.

I get 27 in my 93 Toyota in mixed driving (32 on freeway at 55 mph), I think they can do better 20+ years later.

But then you could also get 50 mpg in a civic 25 years ago and now the Prius is hardly better

>There is no reason a modern light truck cant get 30+mpg
There are plenty of reasons, you know nothing about cars it seems, either that or you think a light pickup based on a car chassis like a crossover SUV is a sellable product

>There are plenty of reasons
And these reasons are?
Go ahead Mr. Knowitall

>you know nothing about cars
Oh?
Cuz this truck gets 31mpg.
So make it smaller and lighter and itll get 35.
You should also Kill yourself

Gladly, stupid. First of all, trucks have shit aerodynamics even with the huge airdams and rounded off front ends that you see today. Trucks are also are RWD or 4WD, a much more lossy drivetrain configuration than a FWD car based crossover. Also, "trucks" based on car chassis have historically sold EXTREMELY poorly in the US market, which makes them not worth investing in.

>this shit-tard thinks a 10% smaller Colorado will somehow get 11% better highway fuel economy

>making things up
The post

>trucks cant get 30mpg
But colorado does and its big
>something about car chassis that no one was talking about
>made up percentages
>something about aero
>blah blah
>a smaller lighter truck wont get better mpg
>doesnt know basic physics
Youre a tard

>>trucks cant get 30mpg
Didn't say that
Stopped reading there

a few neets on an autofag poorforum hardly constitutes a market.

>Stopped reading there
Me
>There is no reason a modern light truck cant get 30+mpg
You
>There are plenty of reasons
Btfo faggot

Do the math you nigger, a ford ranger is literally 10% smaller than a new colorado
>longest colorado
224.9"
>longest ranger
203.6"

224.9" is 10.4% longer than 203.6"
Fucking idiot

>>There are plenty of reasons
see:

Just buy it faget

>trucks can 30mpg
no they cant
>but they actually do in real life
Nuh uh!!! Heres some retarded ill informed reasons they cant
>but i postes proof
NO THEY CANT!!!!!!!!

Love my 97 silverado

My shitty 02' Ranger gets 21MPG city surely a more modern engine could do better.

wow you're actually completely illiterate, it's worse than I thought
lol

...

Cool. Do you want a gold star?

Literally bigger then a 90's F150.

Get about 10 mpg with the 5.7L V8 but it's Hella fun and Hella loud

Show me how wrong i was then.
Please do. Cuz ive clearly proven you wrong and now youre flustered and making a huge scene.

>Hella
Bro

How do you reach shit in the bed without something to stand on?

nissan saves the day again

A shit underpowered scrap heap not sold in the US???
Horray!!

enjoy your overpriced "midsize" colorados, cuck

By not being a manlet. Seriously Colorado's look a lot smaller in real life.

>implying i would buy one
Absolute junk

>My shitty 02' Ranger gets 21MPG city surely a more modern engine could do better.
A truck the size of your '02 ranger built and sold in 2016 must get 34MPG combined by current CAFE standards. See the table here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_Average_Fuel_Economy#Agreed_standards_by_model_year.2C_2011-2025

>Colorado's look a lot smaller in real life
No... the look as big as a 2005 silverado
That wouldnt be difficult

Buy a Ranger
or a Mazda Ranger like me

Same as any other lifted truck

You don't use the bed on a poseur-mobile

>Why are there no more light trucks

Last good mazda truck in the US was in 1993

enjoy those grapes

i dont like the mexican vibe with these
even if its super clean you still look like you're on welfare and hold scrap to pay for PCP.

>being this retarded

>posts a toyota not sold in the US
>talks of sour grapes
Wut?

Never had mexi vibes.
I own a super clean B2600i 4x4 and im ultra white.
Wut?

>That wouldnt be difficult
What? It wouldn't be difficult for you to make a truck like your ranger get the same fuel economy as a Fusion? Why aren't you designing cars? Men like you are in demand!

start by living in a different country

you should probably go ahead and kill yourself, because man. you are dumb as fuck and it literally hurt me inside to read what you wrote.

Toyota hilux, mazda bt50, ford Ranger, vw amarok, Mitsubishi triton etc all get over 30mpg
Please kys

>huur they aren't an f450 it doesn't count!!!

both the NP300 and the Hilux are not sold in the US, and some jelly faggot implied they are shit because of that

>1.4
>1.4
>1.4

Some people like going up hills.

I have seen them in real life, my work has a few in their fleet.

They are every bit as small as my fucking 3G Ram 1500.

That's an entry trim.

Stop comparing 15 year old trucks to modern day trucks...

2010 ford ranger. Manual, 4x4. What more do you need?

Looks like the tire will hit the fender.

>Toyota hilux, mazda bt50, ford Ranger, vw amarok, Mitsubishi triton etc all get over 30mpg
*30mpg imperial
Still not 34mpg us
sorry bud

A reliable truck

They get much more than 30mpg imperial
Keep damage controlling and moving goal posts though

>converting units is now moving goalposts
wow
such asshurt
>34mpg is moving goalposts
nope, mentioned before here: >34MPG

30mpg was never a relevant number, don't know where you got that kiddo

Why are you worrying about mpg's in a truck? Are you one of those pieces of shit that can't afford to accelerate properly in their trick?

I was always talking the same units you were
The post I replied to said 30mpg
Kys you ass blasted faglord

tacoma

I'm sorry I don't have a brand new truck, but an 03 is exactly the same in size as a 2016 ram. My point still stands.
