GM really fucked up with the Camaro's pricing. The cost of the camaro being higher is not due to the car being more expensive performance-wise, it's due to the addition of overpriced interior options.
The premium Mustang GT is similar-ish in price and features to a base SS but GM disregarded that people may want a more base-model car and thus went with their balls-high base prices for the Camaros. A V6 Camaro, for 29 MSRP base? What the shit?
The sales beating GM is getting is entirely because they priced themselves out of the cheaper housewife/child/enthusiast market. They priced themselves strictly off getting old white dudes with money, and hopefully they pay the price. (In my mind, losing the sales contest to the Challenger would be suicide-inducing).
Honestly that's what frustrates me about the Camaro. They found a 'focus group' of 6 old retirees with 5th gen Camaros and determined that they A) had plenty of money and B) didn't daily drive them
And that's why the Camaro is disappointing. The damn thing wins comparison test (particular C&D's) strictly by the magical "unmeasureable" aspect. It's certainly less fun to live with practically with poorer interior ergonomics, less outward visibility, and less cargo space. Yes, it is certainly the faster car. the SS is a beast. But let's not ignore the also-400+-hp GT in favor of something that is superior exclusively in a track or racey environment.

Yeah, no shit. I test drove a camaro and couldn't see shit. Most people buy these as a daily driver. Even though I like the camaro, I'd much rather have a mustang to drive every day.
My 05 F150 has 300k miles plus original motor and tranny. I'll stick with Ford. GM is crap. They just recalled their newest trucks/SUV's because welds in the control arms were sub par, breaking and causing accidents.

That seems to be the problem in Scat and HellCat trims. They produce way over excessive power. Friend owns a hellcat and says the dashboard as a whole rattles when under hard acceleration. Not so good. R/T is always the best all round Challenger.
