The only thing holding them back weight-wise is the old platform they Developed using some mercedes components. When the Camaro lost weight it was all due to that new Cadillac designed platform and the car basically stayed the same in physical size. We saw how fast the old ZL1 was at the burger-ring. if the Challenger lost some, (doesn't have to be extreme) weight and was using a more updated chassis it would seriously fuck up a lot of cars around the ring especially with 700 HP.

I also don't hate the styling, it's the only current muscle/pony car that's actually willing to keep the blockiness and straight lines, the Mustang and the Camaro really round everything out, and I know there's modern safety regulations so I understand it's never going to look quite as it should, always a bit too bulky

The Agera engine is definitely Coyote-based. I'm not sure if it uses a Ford block or a billet block, but they claim it as their own since there's basically no other Ford parts in it. You could take the heads off and bolt them to a Coyote, though.
