I want a Harley. My wife says do it (she used to ride, and prolly wants insurance money when I die) my cousins that both ride crotch rockets are trying to get me to buy 250 - 600cc crotch rockets saying that I'm way better off if I learn on a smaller, lighter bike. I feel like I should just get a fucking Harley because I wont be happy with a cbr or ninja. Idgaf about going fast, I want to see sights and go places and camp out. I feel like I might as well start on a sportster (honestly what I want) so I dont have to relearn on a heavier bike later.

No. It depends on the bike mostly. I ride with a few grills that are like 5' to 5'6" and they all ride lowered sportbike. You can forget about any adventure bike or supermoto.
Even at 5'10" I can't flat foot my 450R and I just do the one leg up lean.
