It was clean, got a good price on it and I was scared of RWD so I didn't want to get a bigger engine which was probably the biggest mistake of my life. The engine is fucking shit, I'd much rather have some high revving Honda 1.6, still no torks but at least it would have some power at higher RPM. This is just a piece of shit.

How do you like it? Considering buying one for a hooning car though I'm more tempted by a Golf R. Then again my DD has plenty of space so I could just go full on impractical and buy a Boxster or a Miata...but a Miata may be way too slow for me since the RR has a 500 hp v8. Not sure how happy I'd be with a weekender that takes longer than my SUV to get 0-60.

I personally love it, but it's a one car fits all for me at the moment, and I'm looking to pick up a weekender in the next year or so.

You can make pretty good power out of the 1.6, and retain most of your reliability. I've been tuned for about 13k miles now without any issue, running either an E30 blend or 93. 225WHP/275TQ or so in a 26xx lb car is pretty nuts, even if it is FF.

If I were you I'd just get a C5 Z06/FRC or some other used true sports car. The Fiesta's just a daily that you can take to the track or touge on the weekend and still have a lot of fun, maybe surprise a few people.

Yeah you might be right. Before I had the Range I had an F-type R coupe that I traded in for it because I couldn't live with it every day. My concern is that any corvette I buy will be pretty damn similar feeling to the Jag which is why I'm interested in roadsters. I'm just reluctant to go back to American cars after having a pretty mediocre experience with my previous car, a 13 CTS-V..fun enough car but plagued with bad build quality and reliability issues incl. 2 factory recalls in the 3 years I had it. For my $80k I wish I had just gone for a fitted out Boxster or M series, but I was starry eyed after Cadillacs redesign and blinded by that beautiful engine producing some insane numbers.

Damn, a 13 CTS-V Wagon is my dream boat.

If you like imports, maybe a used 997 911 would work for you. I'd also at least test drive the modern American lineup before deciding on anything. GT350 is awfully tempting, even though it's just a Mustang.

Can't speak on the wagons as I had a coupe but it was a packaging nightmare (which I knew going in). Can barely see out the pack, giant blind spots. I'm sure the wagon is much better.
