Under the seat.

You don't want its chemicals to wick into the carpet, so get some aluminum foil and put on one side of a piece of cardboard. Staple once at the tree trunk to the cardboard. You can now put that under the seat away from the under-the-seat air vent. The foil keeps the oils from soaking into the cardboard and causing premature dilution of the amount remaining on the black ice fiberboard tree.
