How true

So the Americans are only good at the easiest part of making a sports car?

But the best Ford is Canadian.

assembly=/=ownership
when the US and UK partner up, great shit happens. See P-51D, US plane with brit engine

MAKE UP YOUR MIND

>What is the best ford and why is it british
american ford can't make proper cars desu

>implying

yeah, thanks for proving my point

Designing an engine is the easiest part? really? why do all these small in-shed companies have to outsource engines from larger companies?

>Shelby
>designer of the GT40 and Cobra engines

No mate, he bought ready made engines and fitted them into ready made cars

And made them infinitely better by doing so, what's your point?

I like how much it looks like an r34

With the new era of muscle cars especially the hellcat challenger I think American designers and manufacturers finally learned the lessons the GT-R had to teach us all.

Nissan was the muscle car company of the east after all.

I'm surprised they haven't made an Ford Performance All-Wheel-Drive® ECOBOOST® Mustard yet

>So the Americans are only good at the easiest part of making a sports car?

The engine is american is it not?

More to the point, why in the fuck can't we Brits make reliable engines? We're the kings of shed-built, hardcore track weapons, but almost nobody produces solid high-performance engines here. Aston Martin are fine, but they're Ford-derived, and Rolls-Royce are sound, but not really aimed at sport/track use. McLaren are about the only self-developed ones I can think of.

Bentley's 6 1/4 litre V8 comes to mind.

>McLaren are about the only self-developed ones I can think of.

Don't they derive all their engines from nissan, honda and BMW?
>Bruce Mclaren himself once fell for the $500 and an afternoon meme

What about the LT5 in the Corvette C4? i heard that was Lotus designed.

>Cosworth DFV
>Hartley everything
>Jaguar V8's
Also, Noble M600 is pretty much a Volvo block with everything else custom made to fit on there.

>Don't they derive all their engines from nissan, honda and BMW?
No. They used a BMW V12 in the F1,but their 3.8 twinturbo V8 is an all-original design.

Good point. Also, I forgot about Jag, which is embarrassing seeing as I work for them. The newer generations of engines are surprisingly reliable, bearing in mind the history we have. It's just a shame we're not going to see the return of glorious sounding Jag V12s any time soon.
