Porsche 911R: Car of the Year 2016

What makes this 2016's car of the year?

And why are these now worth over a $1,000,000?

For me, it would be the car of the year if it was around 150k. I hate collector shit, cars are for driving.

It's car of the year because the rich want to get richer. It's a car built specifically for some million or billionaire to buy and then in turn sell it to another for a slightly higher price and so on.

>What makes this 2016's car of the year?

Who said this? EVO? Top Gear? Autocar?

It's a contemporary manuel Porsche which is a considerable rarity these days, but the real reason is that collector cartels buy them in drives and gouge the fuck out of the prices.

And the GTS was already an overpriced S with a sports exhaust.

its a porsche gt3 for the road with a manual gearbox. automatic win

cuz porsche made them limited for no reason and only offered them to people whose interest is making money off the cars. mind you this is not something porsche themselves wants to happen, they want people to drive those cars, but speculators fuck everything up

nah i don't get why that's so special

this on the other hand...

Overpriced junk. The GT3 RS should have gotten the award.

i'll never have a standard carrera gt either, but i'd rather have that over that jumped up 911 in the OP

i'll have my cayman S one day though lel

>whoa the 991 gt3rs is pretty dope
>no manual, just pdk
shit
>oh shit the 991 r
>glorious engine from the gt3rs
>manual
yes
>limited production
>used ones are now $1 mil
mfw

new GT3 RS will have a manual option

what Is it gonna be called anyway?

they went from 3 to 6 to 7 then back to 1 for some stupid reason

It's just a 991 facelift, so people are calling it the 991.2

oh the refresh is getting a stick

fucc is the point of the r then, it's like those stupid aventador bodykits that raise the price to 4 mil

the r was cheaper msrp than the gt3 when it was released

you have to be a 10/10 driver to deal with that clutch tho

>And why are these now worth over a $1,000,000?

As far as I knew people only listed them for sale at $1M. That doesn't mean they're worth $1M unless someone bought one at that price.

Once it's rolling it's normal. Rolling from a stand still is the challenging part.

I don't know how and why but they look so fucking goood

It's old school in every sense of the word. It's like driving an 80's sports car except superior in every performance metric.

997 looks better, 991s look massive. the wheels especially.

It's a bit too agressive and the rear light are kinda dull
The 911 r is more composed

Agreed. I don't like the thin lights on the 991.

911R looks kinda ricey to me
the interior is lovely though

How so ?
The racing stripes aren't too much
I like the spoilerless porsche

front bumper, oversized wheels, decals, and the general proportions of the 991.
just personal preference. i think the rice on pic related is more cohesive.
i do like the spoilerless look though. would do it to a 997 GT3.
typical porsche always making a *nearly* perfect car

Yeah i get what you're saying
But they all have oversized wheels desu
A gt3 without a spoiler would be sex
But yeah they always do almost perfect

I hope in 5 years these aren't worth a gorillion dollars

A GT3 with a ducktail though...
