i've never worked on a bike. can I self teach and intense google my way into fixing a bike from non running to running?

the bike im looking at says it's not running because the piston is impacting the spark plug. hard fix? not worth it?

Got my first bike today guys, Nighthawk 250 w/ 2800 miles for $1550.

Has a windscreen, brand new clutch assembly, new oil and filter, and was dealer maintained before the sale.

Was $1700 but I offered $1550 and she took it. Her husband is a Norwegian diesel mechanic and he gave me the rundown on the internals. The only issues it has are a scuff and scratch on the tank and some scuffs on the tailpipes.

The lady was really nice and wrote $750 instead of $1550 on the title transfer form for the price so I saved like $50 on tax.

How'd I do, /dbt/? I'm really excited to ride!

You can teach yourself, but there are things that you can't learn anywhere but from experience, and you're going to fuck something up because the Google guide assumes you know what you're doing. Find someone with experience to look over your shoulder.

I think I still need to go down to the D150 jet instead of the D155 on the DR650. It's a bit laggard and the throttle response is meh below 5k, but above that it scoots rather nicely what with the snorkel being removed and an additional 2.5" hole being cut in the top of the airbox. Changing the jet and cutting an additional 3mm hole in the slide bottom are next on the list.

there is no "best" cruiser. Since they aren't really meant for high performance and are just for image, the best one would be whichever you think looks the coolest.

No, I don't ride track but I do plan on it next season. The seller still has all the street accessories so it's just a matter of plugging some wires back in and swapping fairings so I don't think it should be too bad. It just seems like an awesome deal for $2,700
