Consider playing it. There are plenty of people who play MH for less than two hours and end up returning their copy at a game store or pawn shop, so you can probably get it pre-owned for pretty cheap.

Theoretically speaking a PS4/Vita title can match the 2 million expectation just nicely. 3DS will be a lot more than just 2 million. MGSV on PS4 in Japan sold 500k+ while Minecraft on Vita in Japan sold 1.5m+.
