Yea, I quite like purple in flag designs. It's very rare though because almost all commercial purple dyes are chemically unstable and fade to pinkish or reddish after a few years in the sun.

In my personal opinion it is far more beautiful and detailed than the maple flag. Actually, for some reason I mostly find union jacks to be kind of cool.
