The problem with Ford is that they run a really wide reliability range. Some models are consistently reliable, some models are consistently unreliable, some models have specific engines or transmissions that are troublesome. Everyone has a different experience with Ford but it works out to be unreliable more often than not, but that's why you get those fanboys who just got lucky picks.
Meanwhile, VW is shit all across the board.

Which fords are reliable, the F350? I wonder how bad ford's reliability would be without their trucks. My last Ford had to have the transmission replaced multiple times due to a design defect and each time it took like 4-6 months to get the part.

I went from Ford to VW due to my experience with my last Ford. I probably won't ever buy a Ford again due to how bad my last one was.

Yeah, I like older Ford's like I like older Volkswagens. I've had bad experiences with new cars in general. I owned an escort and an f150 at one point, escort was unkillable but the truck was shit.

F150s are a lot better than most ford products though. Maybe that's why they're still built in the states while all their other shit is now being made in places like Mexico and Brazil.
