First for coffee

No way I would poison my body with that shite.

pistols are useful

You are LATE

Apart from the LW Perk and Alien packs, an AI enhancer and little tweaks like removing the hidden aim assists from Commander difficulty, all of the gameplay changes are part of a mod suite of my own that I've been tinkering with since launch.

Longer campaign, larger pods, more pods, increased stats and damage for mid-late game aliens, no limit on how many enemies can target the same XCOM soldier, Chryssalids on all retaliation missions, increased range penalties for shotguns, etc, etc.

I've also done stuff to buff XCOM, like increase squad size from 4-6 to 5-7, but the sum total is such boundless magnificence on the tactical layer that even I'm getting sick of it, and I'm the sort of moaning masochist who enjoys when games kick the hell out of me.

>Commander, this thing wanted to see you
>Daddy! :D
what do?

Pick up a nearby Storm Gun and show the creature what's what.

Secret spec-ops Viper brigade.

Send it to Tygan. It's his problem now.

Execute my staff for allowing a xeno on the ship

Although I did not expect this outcome, it is intriguing

>rape

Who keeps posting this!?

...

Some automaton from the cloning pod next to the cyclops-poster's, presumably.

What's your favorite special ammo, /xcg/?

Is there any answer besides Blue Screen?

Talon?

What are the point of effects rounds if optimal gameplay means you don't let your enemies survive long enough for it to matter?

sex

That's a solid chioice

Well to be fair, dragon and venom rounds still add +1 damage, but yeah, AP, Talon, and Bluescreen are the best rounds because they give an immediate large damage boost.

I have doubled cover values, enemy AI that favors shootouts and stalling over risky stupidity, and increased pods. Most of my battles stretch across multiple rounds. I love DoTs.

I wonder if the general is dying because no one actually plays vanilla

It's certainly true that we have less to talk about because we're all playing slightly different games, especially in the sense that we can't share tactics as naturally as we could in the LW days. Not sure that's the only reason why we're on life support, though.

Good Shot.

I know what you mean. /xcg/ may be slow and weak, but it's still comfy.

Fuck's sake, someone storypost or something. Firaxis, drop a controversial patch! LW Studios, molest us! Anything!

>storypost
I totally would, but I've been really busy and a bit burned out. I will finish the fantasy campaign.

Raise her with love and compassion and train her to be a future XCOM operative.

The Father's Daughters, an elite platoon of Viper infiltrators.

BATTLEFIELD 1 PORTS WHEN

>tfw had to scarface Major Jane Kelly to set a bomb off in an avatar facility with hours to go before game over and the rest of the squad pinned down and unable to get through the ayys.

>tfw lost my 3rd string ranger, meme beacon, best mag shot gun, and axes the mission before

>tfw this mission lost my best gernader, Jane Kelly, my frost bombs, and my flash bangs

2 jane kellys?

One can never have enough of best waifu

sound logic

So is anyone excited about X COM with row butts?

that actually looks pretty fun
What game?
inb4 titanfall models

That would be something to watch.

me in the back

How about some modern warfare PMCs instead?

'sup Beagle

When are you uploading -something- to your youtube channel?

Looking good

Finally, some casual tacticool wear that doesn't look like kiddies first airsoft loadout

>inb4 locks it behind GUN
does Gun even have an xcom2 exclusive mod scene?

I'm always in for some Tactical.

Is it worth taking blade storm on a second ranger for ayy reinforcements or is implacable too good?

And what is the IDEAL squad build? 2 rangers, 1 specialist, 2 gernaders, and 1 sharp shooter?

never i lost both my hands in a prawns accident

Vanilla classes?
Two Rangers, Two Specialists, 1 Grenadier and one Sharpshooter works for me

Which of these armours would you use ingame?
Raumsoldat

ISA or PAC
>no EU recon

...

Anything with jeans will get my love and affection. Jeans and kneepads get double love. And hoodies.

EU, PAC, COG armor.

How do you build the specialists and gernadier? Also kill zone or face off?

...

I have one medic and one hacker. The grenedier I go the demolisher route except take the shredder rounds instead of the destroy cover ability since the grenades do a good enough job of that. I also go full on sniper with my sharpshooter, I always find it useful to have a high damage unit out of harms way at all times

>Advent promises clean city centers and stuff
>shit hobo monsters just chilling on the streets

Despite their reputation in the games. The Federation Marine (Metroid) looks quite well rounded when compared to the rest.

How intelligent do you think the Faceless is? Is it sapient? Can it imitate human speech and mannerisms besides just shapeshifting? Or is it dumb animal that's just trained to disguise and then start swiping its claws around when shit goes down.

i would say its the latter since we never worry about faceless getting into the avenger
also it would explain Bradford's comment about advent not needing infiltration units since the faceless its more of an ambusher enemy rather than actual infiltration

Definitely side with the dumb animal argument that also backs up Bradford's comments. Thin men on the other hand were clearly very intelligent and could speak multiple human languages.

Yeah, it fits. So the Faceless is basically a giant, shapeshifting attack dog. I wonder if it's supposed to be made from human genetic slag from Avatar leftovers.

Titan voicepack for Sparks when pls

For some reason I thought 'The Speaker' was a thin man for some reason.

>I wonder if it's supposed to be made from human genetic slag from Avatar leftovers.
That would actually make a lot of sense.

He is. The latest model too, very convincing except for the eyes and some "birth marks."

But he's a political figure head.

I'm still convinced that he is.

Someone kill me, I am ashamed of my prose.

>mcor body armor
But IMC is 10x superior
that is my favorite helmet though

the elders took a human and made him look more like a thinman to fool us all along also for shit and giggles

imc is bae

That would be some next level tom foolery. However the thin man theory still explains how he easily escaped the angry mob un-harmed.

I beat vanilla XCOM 2 on difficulty 2, should I immediately try again on a harder difficulty, or mod it up to the gills and try again, or cry myself to sleep for several years waiting for them to release the next one/a major content expansion?

X2 sorted in order of apparent intelligence:

Ethereal > Viper > Muton = Sectoid = Andromedon > Codex > Gatekeeper > Archon > Faceless = Chryssalid = Berserker

Not sure about the ADVENT troops. Also not sure just how deep the supposed mind control of the aliens goes. I prefer to think of it as a subtle form of compulsion rather than remote control, because killing the ayys is a lot less satisfying if they are mindless shells who can't be held responsible for their actions.

I'd say go for a commander campaign. Also, if you haven't done an ironman try for that. Mod anytime you want though.

I'm really not sure what to make of the Gatekeeper intelligence. Also I submit that codexi are smarter for sure than mutons.

his security team could have helped tooassuming they where not having a seizure at the moment

definitely crank up the difficulty, and if you feel like you have vanilla X2 figured out then start modding it
either way i would recommend some quality of life mods and map packs to spice things up
you can find a link to the Modlist Steam Collection in the op

>codexi are smarter for sure than mutons

Gut feeling would lead me to agree, it's a highly advanced creature. I ranked it below the muton because I wasn't sure whether it has sapience in its own right, or if it's more like bipedal anti-virus, a super-advanced AI.

Compulsions over years to make the control nearly needless makes sense but the way the Advent are described as acting when control is severed implies its enough to cause some to freak out, while others just stick to their programming because its all they know

Grab some mods you find interesting, step up the difficulty and play again. I've found the game to have ridiculous longevity.

Yeah, I got the impression that the ADVENT soldiers are more or less dependent on the psionic network and have their personalities and individuality suppressed, while the actual aliens like the Viper and the Muton are a lot more free and bossing ADVENT around.

Anybody know why they removed some old EU maps from EW?

Looking back I noticed a couple that I had perfect strategies for the starting mission that got removed. But I was wondering if they ever explained why they actually removed maps.

Meh, I feel like the Pilot armor for IMC looks too cluttered.

MCOR Pilots have the right amount of resistance look and tactical
