Canadian websites to buy gear?

I want to die

you just need a friend

dont you guys just go to tim hortens for everything?

...

McDonalds has better coffee now.

Same famalam.

Dont die on a bike pls.

Buying motorcycle gear is making me lose all the interest in motorcycles.

It's worse than getting into a korean grinding mmorpg.

Just don't wear gear. All you really need is a helmet and maybe some gloves

If you have money, buy literally any Shoei and any leather Alptinestars gloves and boots.

If you're poor, buy literally any Icon helmet and any Dainese mesh jacket and gloves.
Problem solved.

>gloves and boots
Genuinely don't know why I wrote that, I meant jacket and gloves. Motorcycle-specific boots aren't necessary.

...

Not gonna miss any protection.

Searching all this shit is just too much. I think I'm going crazy.

It's 4am, goodnight.

>boots aren't necessary
Tell that to the broken foot I got in my work boots

Weather was gorgeous today. Got my bike out and into the sun for my third ever. Really felt good about riding around my town and learning more about basic riding techniques.

>Motorcycle-specific boots aren't necessary.
>Motorcycle-specific

What are you not understanding?

I'm not missing anything, you're ignoring the fact that I didn't say boots aren't necessary. Just because your boots were shit doesn't mean that all non-motorcycle boots are shit; they need to be at least ankle high, and I doubt your work boots were.

they're 6" steel toe redwings bruh
work boots/jump boots suck for motorcycling

Even still, those boots don't encompass every non-motorcycle specific boot.

>he's a fairweather rider

>still hasn't fixed the link
this has to be b8

Guys what is this bike?

Meatgrinder

What is a good site in the US that has good, affordable leathers and riding gear? Not sporty stuff, but plain riding leathers and equipment.

Also, tools, doesn't have to be Snap-On, but something that would last and be inexpensive or if pricey, worth the price.

Yes, but motorcycle specific boots aren't necessary just like a motorcycle specific jacket isn't necessary, as in yeah you don't need them, but you should have them

revzilla is hands down the best place to buy gear in the US

tools off amazon, craftsman usually has a lifetime warranty

dem ergos

Cant beat revzilla on price and shipping.

would an SV650 with a windshield have similar wind protection to a CB500X? I want to move up from my GS500F, but I like the wind protection the bike gives

Got a pic. I did scrape the kick stand while it was in the up position.

It's worth noting that Revzilla and Cycle Gear are the same business and have the same prices, so if you have a local Cycle Gear anyplace near you it's worth buying from their site so you can return/exchange locally. They have the same return policy and everything.

I buy my gear and tires from STG. I buy my (motorcycle related) tools from Bellissimoto.

did you wash out as soon as you hit the grass?

you can probably get a more powerful bike m9

>did you wash out as soon as you hit the grass?
grass? what?

dank wr125 maymays. but seriously don't ride the GL that hard. it doesn't end well.

So you are out riding the bike haha.

yeah i know
>that's my clavicle poking out

nah got a friend to ride it back to my place

Guys, I think I'm about to get a new bike.

heaps hektik m8. do it

lol. any progress on the DRZ? what's your insurance saying?

Fuck man though gotta be careful on bikes. Can out ride the usefulness and it doesn't end well. Glad shit is okay though.

I got rear ended by a school bus at a light. Just hard enough to knock me over.
>school district cut me a check for the damage and a little extra for not suing then or slmething.

>Riding on back side of cliff road.
>pouring rain
>my dad in front
>diamond steel bridge with wood panels that have scraped paint already
>dad almost eats it
>I slide out and east shit.
The bruise is a nice addition.

You're making me second guess looking at it.
Maybe I'll get a Daytona instead.

can I suck your toes

brutal man, I am sorry

>be bored one morning
>go for a ride
>squid in shorts and a sweatshirt
>find a footpath through a field
>decide to ride
>treating a 500lb dualsport like a supermoto
>lowside at like 18mph
>rip button off shorts
>decent scratch on elbow, large scratch on my tuchus
>bike was fine
and that's when I learned my lesson.

The company itself is teetering on the brink, they went the italian version of bankrupt earlier on this year.

At dinner tonight my uncle told me this story about a friend of his.
>riding along
>deer runs out in front of him
>guy hits the deer headfirst
>so hard his helmet punches a fucking hole in the meadow nigger's side
>deer's ribcage spread open and guy's head goes in
>ribcage tries to spring shut and guy's head is stuck inside deer stomach
>deer trying to run away at same time
>guy passes out from being suffocated by the deer's insides
>passing car stops to help
>they rip open the deer's ribs
>yank guy out
>one of the people was a nurse
>she gives him mouth to mouth and saves him

>Sprag 2 began failing at 3800-4000ish
>Bike sat for 6-7 weeks
>BIKE SAT FOR WEEKS

Dont let these jealous bus riders persuade you away from buying what you want.

aren't you at least going to cancel the drz insurance ya numpty

>suffocating inside a deer

How does this happen everywhere on this site. Im just waiting till my skid plate bolts cooperate.

that's giving up hope bro

did they get married afterwards

Giving up hope you'll actually find it?

No but everyone clapped

I'll add my own story too.

>July this year
>Riding on road full of pot holes and death strips
>Ride on the outside as much as I can because it's less rough
>Get to corner and came in way too wide
>Going straight for curb
>Initiatelean.exe
>Corner is covered in loose gravel
>Go for a slide, foot gets stuck underneath and get dragged with the bike straight into the curb
>Wasn't going very fast because of the rough road so minor damage to the bike and myself. Just replaced signals and headlight and speedo.
>Had proper gear except for my pants so cut open my knee pretty deep, got a few stitches but it's all good now, scars finally starting to show

Because everyone on this site likes traps and you're kind of cute.

If you didn't like it you wouldn't be a tripfag

If you can't start the bike without giving it a push you probably wouldn't ride it as much either.

And you'll be waiting for weeks and weeks to get the parts from italy as MV agusta is bankrupt.

>tfw sprag clutch
>tfw have to split cases to replace

>TV as monitor
>not using arch
yeah

Reported to the cops? You actively hunting it?

How to winterize a bike?
>inb4 ride it in the winter
I live in ND. Bikes stop around November and aren't seen again until March.
Can I drop or pause my insurance for the winter? Is that a thing?

I'm buying one of these next month. Is the front suspension as shit as everyone bitches about?

>driving at towards a intersection for two mall parking lots
>4 way intersection
>3 way stop, no stop for me
>Dumb sand nigger on the phone not paying attention
>drives out in front of me from my left
>locked up get thrown from bike, bike cartwheels forward
>sand nigger doesn't stop, I get up and run after her and get soccer moms to box her in at a target lot.
>insurance cuts me a check for 2600 paid 2000 for the bike season before and was bored of it.
>tiny scrape on knee

Yes. I canvassed the neighborhood and am watching craiglist. I can't search all of SF looking for it though.

>be 16 riding dirtbikes for 10 years but only on the street for a few months
>riding in rain on pavement for the first time
>come up to a stop light
>too much front brake
>loose front wheel
>pick up bike, jump back on and ride away
Wouldn't have been that bad if I hadn't been wearing basketball shorts, road rash up my leg pretty good, aside from that I was fine.

what does the sprag clutch do and why don't cars have them?

>Can I drop or pause my insurance for the winter? Is that a thing?
Yes just keep fire and theft, lose the liability. Might be called "lay-up" or "storage" just ask man.

>How to winterize a bike?
Gas tank full with lowest ethanol gas available, change all fluids in spring.

True trips are faggots and thanks bb
Used to but windows cause muh games untill muh vulkan.

you're gonna buy it without even trying to ride it first lmao fucking idiot

Yes and no.

Every time I get on mine, the suspension makes me think my tires are a bit flat. But unless I push the bike hard, I don't notice it much beyond that.

That said, it's definitely on my list of upgrades to this bike. Which, may be a cheap fix based on some things I've read by guys who know more about suspension set ups than I do.

...

Should carbs be ran dry and then drained from float bowl?

>get new air filter for bike
>have to remove body panels and gas tank to access
>its a round oval shape filter
>snorkel runs down the center 4/5 of the way down
>only 4/5 of the actual filter is dirty, the rest is clean and unused

Im debating just cutting off the excess to open it up some more.

In the states, it's exceedingly difficult to ride just any bike you want. Especially newer ones.

Found a dog today.

Leatherup, It's Canadian but All of their stuff isn
t bad

yes its shit, its not a bad bike but the suspension is very shit.

but get an exhaust and it sounds cool as fuck.

question for you bike nerds (that doesn't deserve a whole thread)

All I've driven are dirt bikes and ATVs. I don't understand why the throttle is on the handle of the bike (the traditional twist throttle)... in case of rough terrain or something and you need to hold on to the bike, it seems like a good way for it to get loose and fly away. I know you have to know what the fuck you're doing and be careful when riding a bike but it just seems easier and safer to be able to disengage the throttle a lot easier without losing or compromising your grip.
I much preferred the thumb version when riding around.

why aren't these more common?

I've read that once you adjust it for your weight it's not actually /that/ bad

are you /la/ i might have ridden with you once m8 i remember that exhaust

I speculate that the only reason ATVs have thumb throttles is that the steering is MUCH heavier, and bump steer is far more prevalent
You don't have to worry about those things on bikes, especially on the road. twist throttle is far superior for feel and fine control.

Triumph lets you test ride whatever in the US. Ducati too.

Been checking them alleys bro?

yeah, but I don't joyride around the city anymore because the Oldwing is a dangerous beast, and now I can't even ride that when I need to becuase of my shoulder, so I'll be taking the bus

I've never had a carbed bike but I would drain them so they don't leak into the engine.

Keeping the tank right full helps prevent condensation, don't forget ethanol attracts water and kills rubber seals.

If your bike is water cooled make sure it will not freeze at -20c or whatever you are seeing.

Take battery inside, put on trickle.

Sorry man.

Just stay vigilant, post on local FB groups

Nobody nearby has a security cam?

at a socal WAT meet? i always ride alone except meets.

nah, but some chick on the big facebook group around here got her ZX-6r stolen a week later a few blocks away and did get the guy on camera, she thinks it's a local guy and he stole both bikes
