Overrated, UGLY as fuck inside and out, and rusts. Sure, it is "reliable" but it's not good on gas or that comfortable and certainly doesn't make you look important or smart, and seriously the interior is just balls depressive. Why do people like them? Why do people like any old Mercedes other than the diesels-and even then, why? They take away the whole point of having a diesel by getting 20 MPGs.

The mid 2000s for Ford was full of New Edge Mustang hype. The early 2000s were all about the Puma and the Mark 4 Fiesta Zetec-S with the factory rice bumpers. No one likes the first Focus because it killed the legendary Escort nameplate. Were you even alive in 2000? Or did your third world country only get the worst of the European Ford designs?

No one liked the last generation of Escort. The Focus was also well received performance wise considering at the time it's higher trims were competing with the Si and Golf Gti.

It's obvious as all fuck you have no clue what you are talking about, and probably just play need for speed at the time instead of actually being into cars.

I lived through it matey, about ten miles from Dagenham. The first Focus is, always was, and always will be, a piece of shit. The last generation of Escort is just as monetarily worthless as any other car from the era, Focus included, and your upset about your favorite car being a heap and insulting the styling of the last Escort isn't going to change that. Regardless, the thread is about Veeky Forums cars, of which there are Miata, Volvo 240, Mustang vs M3 and arguably Twingo. Not Focus.

The SVT/ST170 are one of Veeky Forumss go to hatchbacks, And the MK1 is considerably better build quality then the 2 and 3.

As well Veeky Forums does recommend the base models because they are cheap as shit, easy to fix and very driveable compared to other cars in its class.

From personal experience I rode in 3-4 different mk1 focus and they all shook like hell(unless vibrating seats are your thing). I rode in a 2nd gen and it felt a lot nicer

I can agree on this.
I love escorts, but the last models were not that refined.
I somewhat did like the focus but it still didn't feel as good as a mk1/2 mondeo.

It was called a game changer because the tail lights were on the C pillar you moron, it was a design game changer. The underneath and mechanicals are nothing special or new, even in 01. They're the ultimate 'given up on life' family car.

They're detuned from the factory. They're pretty stout engines. And I'd have a reputable shop do it because they know what they're doing and have the tools to do it. I would have it done right.
