Lolno

how does it sound?

I live in California, so...

>for the 300
No.

>For the 302 I will buy to put in at some point
No.

Sup Califriend. If you get some long tubes then you can just put the stock manifolds back on once every two years for the smog test :) Up to you if it's worth the hassle.

Turbo the 300 for crazy torque, bro

I do this on my Legacy. Got a header that I swap back out every two years for smog. Not ideal, but luckily it's an easy swap with my car

how would exhaust headers fuck with emissions?

It doesn't but commiefornia doesn't like any aftermarket components before the cats

fuck that noise

just run some ethanol or denatured alcohol for a short period or buy a tailpipe cat

the testing equipment is blind you dingus
nobody looks at your exhaust system

i passed emissions with a highly modified sti. no cats, custom tune, turbo back exhaust, aftermarket header, aftermarket injectors, etc. etc.

the guy turned his head on the visual of course, but it passed the sniffer no problem.

it helps to know a guy nearby

By the time I spent enough to turbo and EFI my 300, I could have spent the same amount for a 315whp 302

Or you can just pay a bit extra to have it done.....

what exactly is the point of the visual smog inspection anyway?

>passed with no cats
Bullshit.
You physically can't.

>Big brother is watching you

yes.

wrong

LS motor. They're as common as milk at the shops.

Lol.

If it's tuned properly, it can. Unless you're on a dyno to load the car, one can easily tune it to run 14.7 free-reving (no real load) and pass.

Been there, done that.

Then that was illegal because part of the emissions test is to visually verify components like cats and EGR valves are present before even starting the exhaust sampling portion.

no shit
how dense are you

Tell that to the guy saying he can get a car passed without cats by tuning.

>sniffer
>OBD2
>you wut

>what exactly is the point of the visual smog inspection anyway?

Visual means they check under the hood, and under the car to see if manifolds, catalytic converters, smog pumps, etc. have been removed, bypassed, damaged, or altered.

If something is out of place you fail.

No you can't.
14.7 without a cat is a major difference than with a cat.
The tech had the sniffer pulled out to the end of the tailpipe to dilute it.

And you're an idiot.
And so is.

Why do you post when you don't even know how cars are smogged in CA?

California requires cars to hit the dyno for smog so stfu.

I'll bet I had my drivers license in California before you were born.

wrong

cool man, doesn't explain why you have 0 idea what you are talking about

god damn

any vehicle before cats and egr are golden.
worth restoring just

Good luck with your mils dude.

Thanks, I would really need luck if they still sniffed or dyno'd OBD2 cars rather than relying completely on the monitors

Can't beat the infrared emissions detector...

There's a visual inspection done by the smog technician

Already has them from the factory.
