A base camero or mustang will be better in every way.
This is the most riced production car ever.
What about that shitty Toyota Celica with that huge ass spoiler and all that other shit tacked onto it?
>xboxhueg.jpg fake plastic grillz everywhere
WHHHYYYYYYYyfyff fuccck
To be fair this ones spoiler is supposed to have actual aerodynamic effects.
i think it looks pretty cool and the rest of you guys are jealous as fuck
It makes like 340bhp and weighs several hundred pounds lighter than the competition
i think it'd look a lot better in black... actually thinking about getting one and daily driving the crap out of it if it ends up costing low to mid 30's.
From looking at the previous Type R's yes. It has some non functional vents but I can't say it is less powerful than the previous Type R's. I'm not sure if that scoop is for a top mounted intercooler or if it's just rice
I drive a honda myself but...
Honda be like
>"if it makes a great amount of power compared to our previous models we can use it as an excuse to add bells and whistles that serve no purpose."
>general consesus
fucking philistines the car hasn't even been driven by the public yet, enjoy your pointless shitposting
>>How will it do as a DD?
Good enough
>>Is it the hottest hatch?
Perhaps. I think the Fiesta ST holds that award as of now.
>>What will it cost?
Easily 30k
>>When will it be in the USA?
2018, and as a 2 door coupe because we're not big on hatches
>>Will people ever see it more than a souped up civic?
It's more rice than riced civics
I think the one a concept drawer drew is the best looking.
I understand that generally the Type R's have aggressive styling. Which is fine, but with the one they released last year in the UK went off the deep end.
And the one they showed recently at a car show, doesn't look aggressive enough?
Actually, I'm wrong. All modern cars have aggressive styling, so to make a car, so to make a "Sports car" it has to have super ultra aggressive styling to appeal to the the target market.
If car manufactures brought back femininity in car styling, a regular civic SI with a little more aggressive door sills would be perfect.
'cool' pigfat.
I personally like my civics tiny and non aggressive.
+1 sleeper racecar is best racecar
>How will it do as a DD?
OK to good
>Is it the hottest hatch?
Depends if cost puts it into FoRS and Golf R territory. Will be hotter than the GTI, and Ford STs
>What will it cost?
In the 30k range
>When will it be in the USA?
IDK
>Will people ever see it more than a souped up civic?
Honda guys will, but no one else will because of the ancient le ricer civic meme.
I must be the only one who actually likes how the rear end of the new civic looks. I mean it's overdesigned and quite literally edgy just like most new cars today but I don't find it ugly.
>30k range
Certainly but not low 30k
Why? the (current) civic is faster and has interior space.
>hottest hatch
>""197""hp
Honda used to make such clean cars, now you can't tell them from a Hyundai.
Way too try hard-y
Kek I bet the Civic has less blindspots
>low to mid 30s
>honda civic anything
People really think a civic is worth 35k??A Civic?
If retards would pay $40k for a WRX STi I don't see why it would be a problem.
Jesus fuck how many civics will be announced this year?
Good argument
All that's left is a Civic CRX and the Del Sol.
How is that any worse than paying 30k for a basic mustang?
A Mustang is a RWD sports car. A Civic is a FWD economy car.
>still falling for the RWD vs. FWD meme
the econobox type R will still beat a mustang around the track so that argument is shit.
lolnope
On top of it being a civic you get
300+ hp engine ( 1:10 hp / lb ratio )
bucket seats
better tires
lsd
almost-no-torque-steer-wizardry
better suspension
better brakes
stronger transmission
stiffer chassis
I think $30-35k is very reasonable, if it's $40k+ I'll pass.
>lsd
>on a fwd car
nice quads
How old is that? That civic is only pushing 197bhp while the new one is over 300
I can buy the one on the left for around 10k tho, I can't find the one on the right for under 20
And 20 would get me a very sad example
Rice special
There won't be a coupe, it's one car for the entire world this time around.
Last time someone dropped something this hot, all the dinosaurs died
Really? Fuck year. So does America get the "Type R" as well?
Spotted the Honda PR shill
It's not even a Civic, it's an Accord Crosstour trying to hide its muffin top in layers of under armor. This is seriously one of the worst cars I've ever seen from any manufacturer, let alone Honda
Mustangs are girl cars, not sports cars
>arbitrary claims and memes
Probably going to end up buying one desu, i never understood the massive hate on FWD "sports economy" cars, i can put my corolla sideways i'm not sure why this'd be any more difficult
>People really think a civic is worth 35k??A Civic?
It's also based on the completely new civic... which is 70lbs lighter and is 25% stiffer than the previous gen civic.
The new type R should be quite a car...
It's going to be in Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift 2 as the car the main antagonist drives.
People are about to find out the same thing that Ford Fiesta owners have known for a long time - 300+tq on a lightweight FWD car is not exactly idea.
Hell, look at the 0-60 times - the Euro spec type r barely gets in under 6 seconds. The WRX does it in 5.4 (or less) with less power, less torque, and more weight. You can't just lay down the hammer and get good results with a car like this, but that's what most type r owners are going to do anyway.
Fiesta doesn't have the same front suspension/diff as the civic to deal with torque steer.
Wrx does faster 0-60 if you launch it, but in daily driving the civic will probably feel faster and nimbler. Less power loss and up to 300-500lbs lighter depending on options on the WRX.
>he has to cherrypick a model from 15-years ago
>Will people ever see it more than a souped up civic?
why would they?
I will LITERALLY never buy a FWD "sports car"
It's LITERALLY a hot hatch, not a "sports car".
i think the vents on the civic might edge it out, but theyre both pretty bad
Take that shit back Japanigga!!
>good dd ?
suspension probably too stiff
>hottest hatch
possibly
but its engine might not have much more to give
>what will it cost
too much
you know how poor fags are round here
>when will it be in the use
15 years time...
or 2 years
>more than a souped up civic?
no
if anything its just more shit posting fodder
What the fuck was wrong with nice white on white with subtle red lettering
Why does everything have to be literally edgy and black with fake vents and useless exausts
pls bring back
did I say "sports car" I meant """"sporty car""""
euro jdm time
>Toyota Celica
i don't think anythings gonna touch the celica hood spoiler lol
wow so you're saying the civic type r is sporty? what a retard it's fwd it can't possibly be sporty. wow do you even into cars?
FWD means I'll never touch it.
>"""""""""""sports car""""""""""" slower than a grocery getter
>This is seriously one of the worst cars I've ever seen from any manufacturer, let alone Honda
kek how dramatic user.
Looks cool and edgy but it's just a Civic, basically Honda's tC or something.
>slower
>0.1 faster to 100kph
...
Focus RS will still be better.
>drag racing
>literally wrong
>hurr fag
Why are you so deadset on the name? Are you literally retarded? Would you compare a car a mustang from 1970 to a modern mustang?
That looks closer to a lift back than a real 5 door which may be aero, but is less practical, im sure it isnt bad though. Ficus RS/ST and Speed 3 seem more useful imo.
It looks cool, but id rather a RWD if all i cared about was the speed.
I would love to buy one. Literally im having a boner
...
I'd have more respect for a person in a ST, RS or STi.
Explain why, without resorting to "fuckin econobox grocery getter"
>""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""sports car """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
>can't beat a (less powerful) FWD 4-door sedan around a track
assmad
Scion called, said there was a reason they went bust and the tc was one of those reasons.
>How will it do as a DD?
It's still a Civic. So, just fun.
>Is it the hottest hatch?
Nope
>What will it cost?
Too much for the average consumer
>When will it be in the USA?
Hahaha! We gave up on that a long time ago.
>Will people ever see it more than a souped up civic?
Most won't.
So you have more respect to a person with a slower and unreliable car? Lmao, keep on hating honda, it will only make you look like a child
Oh btw i mean Ford and subaru because theyre unreliable pieces of hot garbage
Forgot pic related
Wow that is fucking impressive. I always thought with street tires awd would always be superior to rwd let alone fwd...
Honda is the master of fwd, what do you expect
basic mustangs go for 23-24 (v6)
for 30k you get a bse gt (v8 418hp)
apples to oranges fag boi
Also this
autoguide.com
Why anyone would buy sti/RS over this is beyond me
415 hp v8 RWD for 30k.
> not a sports car
Why would anyone buy an unreliable ferd?
It's been announced as coming to the US sometime in 2017
>FWDcuck spamming cherrypicked laptimes because he got btfo at a stoplight
My sides
Doesn't racing, other than drag racing, normally involve more than a straight line?
>implying people buy a civic for anything but drag racing
Friendly reminder that the current gen fwd Type R is faster than the STI and Focus RS despite both of those being awd and having more power.
And the type R still beat it around nurbernging (not counting the bullshit special edition gti R that only 400 were made)
Give me a type R without all the riced shit. Make it look like a base model and slap an R emblem on it.
it's not rice it's actually functional engineered aero my nigga
It's a front wheel drive STI... wow
A car like this isn't about how fast it can get off the line, it's about how much speed it can maintain through turns. 0-60 times are only relevant to drag racing.
And it's better than the STI.
now this is how you shitpost
Honda are literally magicians
