From what I understand the original had IF in a dilemma to poison Nep to appease Vert as opposed to RB1 where Nep was poisoned by the old guy because he got manipulated by Conversation.

It did get a boost in RB1 for sure. I don't remember HDN too well. I think IF admired her, but not necessarily had feelings for her, and Vert said she's happy to have a friend(IF). Open to interpretation I guess.
