I'll try to find it. I currently have the Sniper you find in the "family rifle" tunnel in AA and my experience with it is basically what you described.

You get the FAL from Fanatic after you defend the Rookie village against the Mercs when you return there after Dark Valley in AA2. The M110 sniper is great too, but the FAL is more versatile. You can buy from weapons from Skinflint after the Brain Scorcher in AMK Autumn.

It's a new bug in 1.4.14. Only happened to me with some new saves that carried on from a pre-1.4.14 save. Try going back to an older save. That fixed it for me. Not sure what causes the issue to occur though.

I think it was blowout causing an issue. I just used an anabiotic to sleep through it and now my saves are working fine.

blowout saves were fine prior to 1.4.14. not making saves during blowouts is silly, if that doesn't work there's a bug.

Not that I've noticed the few times I try out DX10 before going back to DX9 Enhanced. I have Afterburner running all the time.

No I only used it for the fan curve, kind of sucks not having it. But turning off Afterburner is the only way I can play without inevitably crashing.

The rebalance is cool, maybe a little bit overpowered. The problem is for some reason enemies can "see" you from behind the corner. The other problem is that I feel the enemies are becoming less accurate than before.
