For all you Stellaris players, how do I into Wormholes? How many generators should I be placing? How spread out? I have all the upgrades for them.

I tend to put one in any system I've colonized at a minimum. I add one to really busy systems that see a lot of traffic. Others are used to expand my range, so they go at the edge of my space. If any of those edge systems are staging points for an invasion I'm planning, I'll put three or four in; they really help make sure I can keep my fleets, armies, and reinforcements moving around well.

Be aware you can build them in hostile systems when at war so you can use that to jump even further in.

Any wormhole in a system likely to be attacked should have an FTL Snare equipped station built in the system, preferably as far from the wormhole station as possible. The station isn't likely to stop fleets but should give you a chance to respond with your own forces.

Just got done with a random match-up online. Quit after I launched my first war onto my neighbor. I had Infantry, he had pikemen. No one else had anything better than a pikeman. Either I am better than I think or people online are shit.

Some aspects of the game seem so wonky. Like, fuck, culture does nothing outside of winning cultural victories, now that ideological pressure is gone.

What the fuck are roads for in Civ6? They seem to be useless, my units can still only move two tiles.

Unlocking them a little bit faster does little for you.

Anyone playing CIV 6 with a 2500k / GTX 580 or something equivalent to that? Is it playable?

How did they fuck up Barbarians so fucking bad?!
I just lost HALF my fucking army because I rushed to Renaissance to unlock ocean travel because every single civ in my game spawned on the same tightly packed continent, which only took up half of the world map.

A few turns after entering the Renaissance, barb camps start shitting out swordsmen and crossbows and other shit while everyone in my game, myself included, is still on spearmen and archers.

In the span of 5 turns, 4 fucking swordsmen and a crossbowman came at my smallest city from one barb camp. They killed a quarter of my army, which I sent there for defense when I saw them coming.

I sent another quarter of my army across the ocean with a settler to gain a foothold on the wild, uncharted, unpopulated continent there, and lost half of THOSE units to barbarian caravels and frigates.

But I got that city settled and spent my entire treasury getting a water wheel, granary, and archer up while construction on city walls began. Only for literally 8 fucking barbarians to fly in from all directions, like they all heard the horn of gondor blowing, and obliterated my fucking city in a few turns.

Who the FUCK designed this shitty fucking mechanic? You can't play with barbarians on without treating them like their own fucking civ capable of shitting units out whenever they want.

And the Barbarians were a bigger threat than all of them combined, and scouts showed they were losing substantial units to barbarians as well.

Don't you fucking dare try to excuse this shitty game design. They make barbarians spawn from nothing, spawn in groups of 3-5, spawn when a unit gets too close, spawn en masse when an era changes, and scales them based not on their targets, but by the era one player is in.

It's abso-fucking-lutely FUCKED UP that a few turns after one civ unlocks crossbowmen, barbarians can be fielding more crossbowmen than all of the civs in the game combined.

You cannot excuse that with your shitty fucking memes you inbred twat.

Early game they make all terrain act as flatland. So no movement penalty through forests, rainforest, hills, and rivers.

Personally prefer Standard. The way science is paced in this game, I'll most likely go up to epic soon. Science is hella fast, but production is the exact opposite.

The tech on the barbs is definitely done in a stupid way. That being said, I play on immortal and I've never been fucked up that bad by barbs. It's not unfair for the game to punish you for getting renaissance era ships instead of renaissance era ground units. You took a risk and it didn't work out for you, and it's definitely a risk you can avoid in the future, and one that I would personally never take unless I had vision of my whole continent so barb camps couldn't spawn.
