Some of the more complex heroes require being good with them to be fun so I just thought someone who spends a lot of time with a specific character might want to recommend them or something. Yeah, agreed. I play other "meme" heroes (and do extremely well with) such as Azmo, Abathur and Nova. That's one huge thing HotS has over all other ASSFAG, is the balance and reliability of being good with a hero, where even if they're not "m-muh meta" you can still pump.
Tass' is considered mediocre (he needs some serious talent work) but is still a decent hero and I also really enjoy him (got him to level 9 quickly) but he isn't awful and can be fantastic.

the main reason i like brightwing is that the healing is pretty passive, and i can focus on stuff that interests me more, like cc, dps, shielding people. theres a lot of room to play more aggressively as long as you're vaguely close to your team.

I actually really enjoying healing with Kharazim. I know it's not the most optimal but if we're just talking about fun builds, having him heal passively while you pummel the fuck out of everything you see is fun. You can just start beating on walls or whatever if there's nothing around and you need some healing. You can contribute to your team quite a lot by being aggressive. You're not going to win in numbers but it's rewarding to play IMO.

i like kharazim too because of just that reason, but i don't play him much because i play a lot of tanks, so i tend to overestimate how much brawling you can do on kharazim before you feed

He can be tough to use well, I'm terrible with him still but I'm going to stick with it. I've found if you don't get hits in constantly and reliably the rest of the team will finish off targets before you can get enough hits in to heal much, so you always need to be in the thick of it even though he can't take too much damage. Merc camps can be useful punching bags to top everyone up before a push, as well as letting the rest of your team leave fort walls behind if you need a safe target.

A good Tracer is annoying as fuck. She works similarly to her Overwatch playstyle in that she chips at you just enough that you want to drop what you're doing and focus her. If you ignore her and tank the damage you'll definitely suffer but she can get away faster than you can take her out most the time. Don't try and be ultra-high DPS with her

I give absolutely no fucks about any Alliance character, aside from Greymane, because none of them have ever seemed interesting to me aside from him.
Seeing that Varian will be able to spec to be a Protection, Arms, AND Fury Warrior, instantly makes me extremely happy to have him. I think his kit is absolutely fucking awesome, and I don't see how anyone who loves Warrior couldn't love Varian. SO, I say that to say that I'm pretty turned around on the guy. Never gave a shit about him in WoW, but I'm really liking him in HotS, and that's actually kind of bleeding a bit into WoW, in that I actually kinda wanna read about him a bit now.
And even though I just straight up hate the Alliance, the fact that he has Alliance representation all over him, ESPECIALLY on that Master skin of his, is pretty fucking rad. I wish the Horde had somebody like taht, but then again, there's no single character that could rep the entirety of the Horde in the way Varian reps the Alliance. In my opinion anyway.

Tyreal is just a quest giver and the only nondiablo3 class hero is Xul if you don't count the demons. All of the Starcraft heroes are the recent shit, too. Blizzard isn't trying to appeal to the crowd that's already in deep enough that they know Guy Montag was actually a hero in those shitty side missions or understanding the cow level meme. They're throwing out flashier shit that'll get people interested in the games they still work on so they can sell some more of those expansions they won't stop putting out. I'm surprised the Innkeeper isn't a hero yet.
What's the deal with half the shit they crank out? All of them are what-ifs that mesh terribly with the basic ability animations 70% of the time. I know this game is basically a side project but if they put half as much time into the balance and new heroes as they did their legendary skins then maybe I wouldn't have 4 minute queue times.
