ZIONISTS JEWS, MAINLY BASED IN ENGLAND.

Austria wanted to pacify the south slavs and were just warmongering in general

Germany wanted to show rest of Yurop he a big boy now and he dun wear no diapers anymore

France and Russia didn't want Germany, a rising power, to get too much ahead and wanted to maintain the status quo of power relations in Europe

And Brits got buttblasted when Germans ignored their piece of paper that guaranteed they had their little beach/waffle/chocolate joint on the mainland

Cos they didn't get angry

The Eternal Teuton

>Napoleonic wars end, Council of Vienna is established to create a balance of power in Europe, so that no one nation can wage a war on the scale of Napoleon again.
>for a while this works, no one European power is able to gain an advantage over all others, deterring war except along the periphery such as Crimea.
>the balance of power is then upset in the 1860's-70's with Italy and Germany's unification.
>Suddenly a united Germany has a clear advantage over most other European powers, and absolutely steamrolls France in the Franco-Prussian War
>in order to keep Germany in check, an alliance system is created between France and Russia, Bismarck's nightmare.
>Germany counters with the triple alliance between them, Austria-Hungary, and Italy
>Britain joins the Russo-French alliance in response, and balance is somewhat restored, but shaky.

Simply.

europe hadn't had a major war since Napoleon kicked everyone's teeth in a hundred years prior and everyone was itching for a fight.

>fast forward to 1914, after 30 years of weapons stockpiling between the two alliances
>the Archduke of A-H is shot and killed, A-H is thrown into confusion over how to respond and confront Serbia
>the Hungarian parliament seeks a peaceful resolution, while the Austrian parliament seeks war.
>Hungarian parliament is persuaded to accept war, on the condition that no Serbian land is annexed in the fighting. Austria accepts.
>A-H provides an arguably rigged ultimatum to Serbia, with terms that are knowingly unacceptable.
>Russia messages A-H, saying they will go to war in the defense of their ally Serbia
>A-H sends envoy to Germany to ensure support
>German foreign ministers pledge full support to A-H, on the condition that if they declare war, do it quickly to have a pre-emptive advantage over the Entente.
>3 weeks pass, a timetable unacceptable to Germany
>Serbia then rejects the ultimatum
>A-H declares war on Serbia
>Russia declares war on A-H
>Germany declares war on Russia
>Germany declares war on France
>Italy declares neutrality, saying they are only obligated to join in a defensive action, not offensive
>Germany invades neutral Belgium on the way to France
>Britain declares war on Germany in response to Belgium
>1 million people die in the first month

>A-H declares war on Serbia
>Russia declares war on A-H
>Germany declares war on Russia
>Germany declares war on France

No Hans!
Stop being revisionist.
The timeline is here Russia didnt declare war on A-H after they declared war on Serbia
Russia got officially involved in the war only when Germany declared war on them

Austria-Hungarian royal assassinated by Serbs.
A-H demands ridiculous reparations from Serbia, who refuse. War!
But wait! Russia has been promoting themselves as guardians of all slavs, so they feel obligated to defend Serbia.
Oh shit! But A-H is allied with Germany, and Russia is allied with France!
Germany decides war is inevitable and preemptively attacks France and Germany, hopefully before they have a chance to prepare.
Germany decides to attack France first, since Russia will take longer to mobilize.
Germany asks Belgium to surrender without a fight so they can attack France from a less defended direction, but Belgium refuses and Germany starts fucking them up.
Britain had promised to protect Belgium (a promise Germany assumed they would break), so they declare war on Germany too.

>>Italy declares neutrality, saying they are only obligated to join in a defensive action, not offensive

Realisitcally, could Italy have stayed out of the war completely?

realistically they could, but both sides were doing their damned best to try and court the Italians onto their side.

the Central powers offered Italy Nice, Savoy, Corsica, and Tunisia taken from France.

and the Entente offered them control of Tyrol, the Julian March and Dalmatia from Austria-Hungary.

Because the Italian irredentist movement called for ethnic Italians to be under one flag, the Entente won, as Trieste and other Austrian cities were overwhelmingly Italian.

The Huns

>austria
>warmongering
take a history class

Serbia wanted war. Austria literally just wanted status quo.

Weak europeans who couldn't handle a strong Germany

Austrian ethnic instability with Slavs.
Germany wanting into relevance.
French, Russian, and British fear of Germany.

Basically, it's Serbia's fault.
