I can feed a 13* egg garbage drops and hit max level. Can't do anything about a 13* weapon without more copies or at least another 13* of the same type.

Because Vraolet works in every other EQ, Necky is the exception. Apprentice crystal is what drops orbit in TD4 so you always get untekked.

Basically, it works like this: There are 4 ranks of crystal (S/A/B/C). Higher rank basically means the crystal carries better quality shit, and has more chances to pull crystal exclusive loot from the pool (if you get a C rank you're basically fucked). Everything that's drawn from the crystal exclusive pool is pre-tekked 100% of the time, which is why taking a vraolet to TD in hopes of an untekked non gal 13* is futile.

tl;dr use a vraolet only for amduq in the off chance you get a gix to drop so you can untek it light and save 8-10m, and when mother comes around it'll become even more desirable because of 14* and advanced untekking allowing up to 50 element (possibly even more) on 14* drops.

If you really badly want to affix astral soul that's your call user.

Necky isn't the exception, TD as a whole is the exception. If orbits dropped from TD4 as a whole from the crystal rather than apprentice directly, orbits would always be pre-tekked.

If orbits dropped from the TD4 crystal the same rules would apply sure. What I meant is that Necky crystal is literally the only scenario in which you can get pre-tekked 13* despite having vraolet.

This isn't unique to Orbits, the light and shadow formation TD-exclusive weapons always drop pre-tekked too, and always have.
