Solar roofs that look better than a normal roof, generate electricity, last longer, have better insulation and actually have an installed cost that is less than a normal roof plus the cost of electricity," Musk told a small crowd gathered at the faux block party. "Why would you buy anything else?

This is Veeky Forums. for autos, not roofs

Musk demonstrated the durability of the solar glass tiles with a video showing a Tesla roof tile taking a hit from a weight dropped from above. The tile cracks but does not shatter into shards like other conventional roofing tiles. No mention was made of the price, electricity generation capability of each tile or insulation value.

2 charge ur Tesla

here's your reply

Solar Freaking Roofs!

thanks elon

i'd be more concerned about its lifetime against elements, especially in areas with ice/snow

Retarded

Musk is awful at doing presentations.

No one here can afford a Tesla, shill.

And before you say it, no one here likes Musk either.

That little babby sized model s

Why would you throw your kettlebell at a roof tile?

The same reason you'd throw a toolbox into the bed of a truck.

get a load of this faggot

Running lightweight roofing felt because race car

Do people realize how many solar cells (even satellite grade) it would take to charge a Tesla? Of course not because Tesla sheep are braindead.

Musk is like the Jobs of electric things, re-branding shit and making mad profit the easy way.

Given that the average American drives 15,000 miles a year and the Tesla Model S gets 300 miles on 90 kWh, also given a solar yield of 7 sqm for 1 kWh per day in Anchorage tier dark Germany, we're at 900 sqft. I'm guessing in most of the US it's only half to two thirds as much. So if you cover your double garage roof in solar cells you're probably already good.
