My next car will be one and can't decide

>In an interview for the television programme Top Gear, Wheeler explained "Basically, we designed the engine as a race engine. It was my idea at the time that if we wanted to expand, we ought to make something that we could sell to other people. We've ended up with a 75-degree V8 with a flat-plane crank. The bottom-half of the engine to the heads is exactly as you would see in current Formula One engines."

TVR

fucking hands down, gods before the GT350 was even a thing

Front of a lotus looks like someone who is mildly uncomfortable but trying to have a good time anyway

Get the Yellow one......Smaller, faster, and looks better.

TVR made some wonderfully mental stuff

I came here to fast

but I'm all out of fast . . .

>The superior Viper

Fiodge cucks will never be able to match this

>faster

I've got some bad news for you user

TVR

Why? Because of their crazy ass paint jobs that's why

>implying o knows shit worth of dick anything about either of the two

>but muh aluminum lightweight special snowflake Toyota

MR2 with V6 Camry Engine

Wasn't that car such a nightmare that it couldn't be raced or wasn't competitive because of it being undrivable?

Lotus

TVR made nothing but complete garbage the entire time

not to mention everything they amde looked awful

car was so powerful it literally broke dynos

>not picking the 400 hp 2300 lb V8

Toyotacucks everyone

lotus makes superlight sports cars which have meh engines but handle like gods.

tvrs are designed by kids with severe autism and overcompensating issues.

Guess what Veeky Forums prefers.

tvr

Lotus makes better cars
But I would have the TVR

>60K car
>toyota 4 cylinder

>misspelled sex

I want it even more

For daily use, they're both going to be awful.

Go for the Lotus if you want the best handling, but admittedly not great speed. Go for the TVR for our and put nouse and grunt.

Ever considered a Vauxhall VX220?

A Lotus is a purpose built car for maximum handling and track fun, it would probably be one of the best cars you would own and never regret it for a second
A TVR is what happens when a Russia billionaires son decides that a Dodge Viper isn't dangerous enough for him

I'm importing a sagaris when they become legal in 2030 or so

Ginetta. The owner is a businessman that raced at LeMans and decided to buy a car company so he could go back and win the overall. Based as fuck.

Lotus, but only if Euro.

The Exige V6 360 Cup is a monster

tvr has a bespoke engine
and body panels with a more limited production run
combine that with the hectic handling and kit car like build
and perhaps it has more costly upkeep

I thought these just ran ford v8s

Except you can buy an entire TVR rolling chassis for like £1500, and a cracked shell on an Elise will cost the full value of the car to repair.

Nope, they're offered with either the Speed Six or Speed Eight engines, both designed in house by TVR.

some of the older ones yes
but with modified heads
that is one point
aside from the engine the Elise is high price

I wonder how maintenance is for the tvr's. is it even a car that the average joe can do most repairs on?

Apparently it involves a fair amount of reengineering to keep the valvetrain from eating itself. It's sort of like an RX-7 in that regard: don't even think about trying to keep it bone stock and just putt around in it.

>Lotus
>Not getting an Espirit V8
