Hey /mhg/. Completely new to the games, just started with 4U a couple days ago and I'm pretty into it. I've gotten to Harth using only the Long Sword and I'm starting to wonder if now is a good time to branch out and find a secondary weapon to use, and if so what would be a good balance to the Long Sword that I could pick up. I thought maybe the Gunlance or Switch Axe.

You should try the training quests in 1* of weapons you think would be cool and pick one of them up sooner or later, It's good to have variety

if you roll off a ledge it cancels the invuln and puts you into the vulnerable falling animation

it's easy to lose track of all the little ledges and roll/run into ones that are off camera and such, it's really annoying when it happens

Like I said you'll probably have to suffer it yourself to see how bad it is, it will screw your camera, your attack direction, cancel your rolls and stop you while crossing mini ledges all the time, weak monster hitzones will be blocked by them, their attacks will slide through the floor and become impossible to roll through or by and so on. It's awful.

Ah. So it mainly fucks with your dodges.
I don't really have that problem, but I should keep this in mind.
