As meme-y as they sound, Butler/Maid is a fantastic support class, especially now that throwing knives cause debuffs.

Ninja can unlock chests, use throwing knives, and can get Lethality from promoting, but have normal movement spaces and are more combat oriented than the other country's version, Outlaw, which has 6 movement spaces, but use Bows, and can promote to either a healing archer class, or Bow Knight.

Mage Knight is essentially the Dark Knight class, which uses Magic and Swords, and promotes from Dark Mages. Strategists use Staves and Magic, and promote from Troubadours.

I fuck around with DLC, bonuses and stuff. I tend to overlevel the next chapter I'm about to do, but I enjoy doing it.
The only time I don't do this is on my first and maybe second playthroughs, but after that, I feel somewhat bored doing it all again, so I "complete" my characters instead

I'm kind of on and off. It kinda depends on my mood on whether I want to play efficiently or not.

I'm using visit rewards, but other than that, I'm trying to keep my lunatic conquest run as pure as possible.
