Your DD is now your track car. Explain how you build it

Okay, so basically the idea here is that you are forced to make your daily driver into a race car.

Any and all costs of modifications are compensated.

You are allowed to do anything but sell the car or destroy it. You are allowed to sell parts, but only for money for mods and weight reduction.

State your car and your build list for it.

I have no fucking clue what to do about the steering, it would have to be a whole different fucking steering system entirely and I suck at that shit.

Well, a R26B should barely fit.

I would add hub motors on the rear axle since I don´t have enough space for the transmission.
The battery and controllers would go in the trunk.

The econo-asphalt saws have to go...

>Aerodynamics
a frontsplitter and a diffusor would do the job.

I have to buy a hatch civic, strip it to the chassis and then swap the drivetrain and other stuff. no a/c raidator, just a bigger one for the engine. at 850/900 kgs it should function more properly.

I'd end up with a mk4 version of a golf R with fuck loads of more power.
Heard of a lot of others making their golf GTIs AWD.

still, I would like to keep a conventional automatic that won't have to result in me cutting a whole in the floor of the cab. and why would you put a lenco on something that would only make like 5-600hp?

I dd two cars but I'm currently did my 1993 Corolla

>black forest clutch and engine mounts

Not just installing a Sonny's racing 1000ci mountain motor (2100hp NA) with a 2 speed powerglide. Plus run 5-600hp worth of nitrous as well for good measure. Fully tub the rear out for massive slicks...

Do you even 'Murica? Pleb

that would suck ass at everything but going WOT for 5 seconds at a time

would be pretty fucking hektik though, also how do they get 2.1hp/ci at that size? that is fucking retarded.

Well.... chevy s10. I could make a decent drag truck but track would be odd

Not sure what i'd do about the transmission. 4x4 would put down the power great but would most certainly break... would have to find something better
>coilovers and lowering parts are easy to find
>will probably need bigger power steering pump/hozes
>some bigass junkyard motor, a lot of stuff will fit. More research needed
>alternator the only belt driven thing. Everything else electric
>move battery, radiator and coolant reservoire to rear.
>replace tailgate with radiator for keks
>depending on engine rear mount the turbo and intercooler, probably design a scoop to cool them properly

Probably get cooked driving that abomination. Piping turbo and coolant through the cab would suck

Forgot to add

>would need a fat sway bar because the thing handles like a limp dick
>would need some funky aero on the rear otherwise it'd just end up being a drift truck

isn't WTAC already essentially a blueprint for doing this with any car?

OP said make your daily driver into a racecar, race cars don't have to be practical at anything other then going fast in their respective field. You want to make a drag truck, go big or go home...

See attaches link for engine

and yeah drag truck, to do drag week and shit. I think I could clock 11's with the setup I described.

How can you daily drive a car that rare?

It's not really rare

I daily it because it's fun as shit to drive. I have solid aluminum engine and tranny mounts, bald rear tires, and straight piped exhaust with a type 2 street port. Shit gets so many looks, and it pops every time I get on the gas.

Got a slow 3v 06 mustang gt, i would do teksid aluminum block, iron sleeves, stroke out to 5.0,procharger up to 800-900whp, strip the body, full tube frame, independent rear suspension, full race suspension, new fuel cell, customer heads, custom grind comp cams, new intake manifold, full radiator and intercooler, oil cooler etc., full caged frame, racing seats, racing cluster etc. for interior, fire suppression unit, square wheel setup prob 18x10.5 all the way around with full aero and 6 piston front calipers probably 4 caliper rears, and full brake ducting

Where I live you might get a FD or a FA orFB in horrible condition, but never a FC.

Where do you live? I'm in Canada, they're all rusted out here but I found one from the small desert area in BC that's clean (although dented a lot)

Currently don't have a daily driver. I do however have dad's old Fiat 600 sitting in the shed, but there's no way I could restore that on the cheap-

>Any and all costs of modifications are compensated.

Fuck it.
>Full restoration of the body, slap it on a tube chassis
>Cantilever suspension
>Midmounted Synergy-style V8 made out of two MV Augusta F4's with a cross ram ITB setup
>Twinscroll VGT setup with two parallel turbo's
>Some kind of sequential dogbox from a rally car, unsure about # of gears
>Air to water intercoolers, massive radiator and heat exchanger up front
>Abarth body kit & livery with massive dry carbon WTAC-style aero surfaces added
>Open rear hatch (of course), try and get the rear diffuser as close as possible
Let's make Carlo proud.

I DD a miata....

ez

Germany, im thinkin abut getting a FD as soon as have saved enough money for it or time to fix a RX-8.

My plan is to take the Marquis and park it sideways across the track so all 22 feet of it block everyone else from passing, then get out and walk because it'll be faster.

I don´t even need to measure it out, it won´t fit.
But a 2.6l dorito might fit and turn the Twingo into the ultimate sleeper.

Probably order a Total Chaos kit and piece the rearend together.

Probably add a tire rack/holder to give it some weight.

if money's not an issue:
>TDI V12
>AWD conversion
>interior lightening
>install new shocks, springs, yadda yadda
>17"x10" wheels and race tires
>replacing as much as I can with carbon
if money is:
>turbo swap to a bigger one
>drill the shit out of the injectors
>get maximum displacement as possible
>strip out interior
>replace radiator with better one
>replace water pump with a high-output one
>same for diesel and oil pump
>put bigger intercooler
>replace shocks and springs with new ones
that'd be it, really. It needs more of an engine boost than anything.
But it's gonna roll coal like a motherfucker.

>2006 Corolla
I guess basically turning it into an XRS is the best I could do. Swap in a 2ZZ, maybe one of the supercharged ones like Lotus used. Swap in the manual transmission, upgrade all the suspension using XRS parts, replace the fucking drum brakes in the rear, strip out the interior, put some tires on it.

And at the end of all this it'll still be
>FWD

98 S10
>lower
>IRS rear suspension swap
>poly bushings all around
>tube control arms and front suspension
>LSX 454 swap
>62mm turbo
>bed cover
>duck tail
>cage
>6 speed swap

Thats all that comes to mind, I have a extended cab so I would have to reinforce the chassis. I would turn it into a time attack truck and later a rally track.

>2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
>5.7 HEMI

Well first of all I'd have to slam it so it doesn't roll over in the first corner. But the good news is I don't have to do much to the engine since it has enough power as is, so I just work on suspension/wheels and make sure I don't drive like a thunderous retard.
>inb4 thunderous retard for buying a heep

Hey man I own one too. Swap in a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks and it'll run great.

Well assuming since its now my track car, i no longer have to DD it.
