Also, I thought that the like 5 episodes of Sasuke flashbacks before Naruto vs Sasuke were mostly filler but turned out to be all canon.

Bad end, Naruto probably wastes more years chasing Sakura (maybe she even manipulates him into dating her) only to get brutally NTR'd by Sasuke.

She might've stopped chasing Sasuke and become a slightly better character, actually? If Naruto had managed to win her affection by being a good guy and she had to choose between Naruto and Sasuke as she had feelings for both of them it could've been interesting. Maybe if she focused on becoming a better person in order to earn Naruto's respect (and hopefully love) after she shat on him so many times she might've become more interesting? I honestly don't see how Kishi would've been able to write it well enough but it could end with Sakura either somehow getting over Sasuke and winning Naruto's affections, or Sakura failing despite flipping the tables and trying to chase after Naruto, and the message would be something like "too little too late, if only you'd gotten over yourself and noticed sooner maybe you could've had what you wanted but now you'll never get it"

Of course this is assuming Naruto thought she was lying when she was being sincere. If Sakura was being sincere and Naruto realized that then yeah maybe they would've gotten together but it would've been even more of a trainwreck to justify than SasuSaku. it might be easy to see how Naruto could win someone's affections. But there would've needed to be a good explanation for why she only began liking him romantically at that time, and why she gave up on liking Sasuke now after all that's happened before without her giving up on it, which would've meant justifying why she liked Sasuke in the first place which is nearly impossible to do.

NaruSaku would've been harder to make satisfactory than even SasuSaku, because at least fans were used to Sakura's character being defined by her retarded devotion to Sasuke and weird mistreatment of Naruto.

Madara was good in the sense that Aizen was good.
Kaguya was bar none the shittiest villain because she appeared out of fucking nowhere and seemed to have no real reasoning behind everything she did and was a poor fight to boot. She might not've pulled a fucking nagato, but the fact that we have no way of understanding or appreciating her intentions, the idea that she never posed a threat in terms of the plot, and that she was never at all built up until shortly before she was used to halt the Madara fight (which made the entire fight extremely unsatisfying, since we still didn't know who would've won), means she was a literal plot device, and a poorly written one at that. Even Saruon's fucking eye is a better plot device, because at least it's been there the entire time.
