Yeah super killer

Caught the thread late last time. Post videos/maps of your favorite roads.

Bonus if any videos linked have good audio.

AZ 89A from Prescott to Jerome is great. It was completely repaved a few years ago so it's super smooth the whole way.

Why aren't there any good Japanese dual sports?

You're only allowed to use that font if it's summer. And if you have a vagina.

They gave up becuase people continue to buy the non-updated bikes they produce.

lmao so why do they buy them if they're not good??

because maybe they arent bad.
they also do something ktms cant, last 30 years

Didn't make it bruh.

They're good enough, reliable as fuck, and under $7k new with a huge aftermarket.

or have six speed transmissions

FACT: The Suzuki DR-Z400 is the most popular motorcycle of /dbt/.

what?
both have 6 speeds
the xr/dr650 have 5 speeds but theyre tractors that can power it out.
the dr200/350, xt225/250/350, xr250, klx250, wr250, klr250 and so on are all 6 speeds

fact; 78.4% of all facts on the internet are made up

Why would they do that - just go on the internet and tell lies?

going to actually get my bike license and start riding on the road, (legally)
would like to start out on a dual sport but i know il eventually end up on a supersport going down the highway as fast as is physically possible

even when im a jackass and ride my dirtbike on the road i ride like a jackass

why does that dirt bike have street tires?

Fuck off nigger. Nobody cares about you breaking the law

it is what is called a "supermoto" or "motard," the most fun and versatile kind of motorcycle. this particular one, the Suzuki DR-Z400SM, is the best selling, most popular, most reliable one ever built.

Are you trying to convince yourself or someone elder of that lie?

Else*

So how would I go about finding which wire to splice into to put a usb charger on my my bike?
Is there a thing like "always red wire from ignition switch"? or something?

looks pretty stoopid man

Was meant for this Why do you hate me mobile Veeky Forums, why

can you do teh opposite, dirt tires on a sport bike ? ?

ofc! they make great tourers.

oh..

You can but its not just the tires that make a difference. The sport bike will be heavy as fuck, hard to maneuver and the suspension will be shit. Sport bikes are made to be on asphalt. You can of course do it for the look and thats pretty fucking badass but thats all.

Serious lack of German language. Feels threatened. Please more German. Thanks

>tfw the days of stupidly dangerous two strokes are in the past.

Where did we go wrong?

Guten nazi tag

Die DR-Z400 ist die beste.

Where did we go wrong? Fuck look around you, look at what this world is becoming. I wouldnt be surprised if they ban bikes in the near future.

Maybe you pussies shouldn't of lost the war twice in a row

>SM killa

I cannot understand how the supermoto segment is still being roughly ignored by most manufacturers. From what I see as a 29 yr old male it's as popular as ever. Despite the wr250x being underpowered somewhat just being the only fuel injected mode from a Japanese manufacturer made it hugely sought after. Not to mention the service schedule. I don't understand why we don't have 400cc fuel injected models from every major manufacturer. I don't see anyone buying cb300s and 500s. Ktm has some options but I find more naked bike ish than supermoto. The drz400 has been hugely popular yet is still unchanged. Just look at the used segment. People are paying the same price for carbd thumpers as inline 4 Supersports that traditionally are the latest and greatest technologically packed machines for their time. Yet the supermoto segment as far as I can tell is mainly kept alive by drz and wrx used sales. Now 8 years later I can't believe we are left with the same choices.

what bikes dis is?

in america beginners love the honda 300 and 500 cuckbikes. ninja 300s are extremely popular too. the japs really like to stretch their models out as long as they can. i mean the r6 took 10 years for a facelift, not even a proper update, and the cbr600 is being phased out.
i'm not sure why they're ignoring the supermoto segment. it shouldn't be too hard to modify their dirtbikes to pass emissions and give them a bit longer intervals.

DR-Z400S

Brand new the dual sports cost quite a bit less than the modern supersports. The only reason they don't plummet in value like supersports in the used market is
>they don't break if you drop them. scratches are expected and don't devalue it
>they haven't changed, so it's still almost worth it to pay half of MSRP for a 10 year old bike

wow, i'm in love. who makes this godmachine?

Why do you need dirt tires?

This is the ride that never ends,
It goes on and on my friends,
He pulled the clutch and shifted up,
This is the ride that never ends....
>How was the day daily butt thread?

They work well. Deadly reliable and all the hop ups and accessories are already available

that's pretty cool, i wish i had something like that to do with mine. all my dad likes to do is drink \:

Drink with him

Suzuki.

tell your dad to stop putting weight on his arms and crossing up

Yah its nice to ride with him even though he just cruises and relaxes since im still slow.
Hes trying to be slow enough for me to keep up m8.

you definitely inherited his shit skills

sucks for you cause hes know for being a great rider and even my MSF said he had respect for him. But keep thinking that I am a shit rider cause of him lmao.
>all these mad anons cause they have a drunk dad that cant ride a bike.

Displacement is up 675% this quarter.
>We dirt bike again

>not a dual sport
yah fuckin blew it lad

is the harley yours? and do you even have a truck to haul the KX?

go sit on your dildo

>posts a Yamaha

who here is celebrating /thanksgivingalone/ again?

Dual sports are the bomb
When can I get my nuclear powered ds with 1000 mile range?

Then all I need to die happy is a 600
and maybe a subtle bobber for sunday morning coffee

I'll be at work. Yay

>and maybe a subtle bobber for sunday morning coffee
nek urself

Even "dark smoke" doesn't look very dark. Since there's not much light inside a helmet is it enough to make it look black from the outside or hide my face? And how dark will it make the outside world look?

You don't like coffee?

i'll be spending that evening getting lost on purpose in downtown.

Maybe take some pics here and there and drive back when my fingers get too cold

Or call a cabbie and ride to the strip club.

y'know what, that doesn't sound too bad after all.

Nah, sounds like a solid American thanksgiving my dude. I'll take that over dealing with shitty family.
I'll be outta the country again this year. Bit no biggie. Usually it's a lax day at work and the food is on point

>I'll be outta the country again this year.

you navy, or a seafarer?

Was one, now the other. I think this will be my first xmas off in about 5 years? Give or take. Great life though

anyone know where i can buy grey drz400 plastics?

have you tried ebay?

have famalam, can only buy separate pieces from wrecked bikes for redic prices

only plastics kits i can find are yellow, black and white

oem ofc. partzilla/bikebandit

Spray paint

I don't have a truck, I'm registering it in South Dakota - they'll send me a plate.
The Harley is not mine, it's my roommates.

just get a trailer for your Oldwing

I'm going to drop it off a cliff if someone doesn't buy it soon.

>dual sporting an mx bike
Rebuilds errywhere

how much are you asking?

don't you think you'll attract a lot of unwanted attention riding a 2-stroke MX bike in CA? Also I think you're required to register your vehicle in your own state within 30 days

How did it handle with all that shit on the tail?

I know, but it's in fully working order, 15 hours on the top end and I got it for $500. And like I said, I don't have a truck.

I'd let it go for $700. I've got fully rebuilt front brakes (both) and front master, just haven't put them on since I don't care.

>unwanted attention
have you met me?
Also I'm not exactly sure how illegal it would be because the South Dakota title will have my California address on it, but I don't really care.

I think setups like that are intended more for long open trails than difficult singletrack. Probably still miles ahead of an unloaded KLR tho.

I'll take off your hands for a cool hundo
>Guy doing RTW trip stayed here a couple days ago
>Was on a comfy early 90s Goldwing as interim until his bike is shipped
I was kinda jelly

>have you met me?
no. I haven't ever been to jew york or commiefornia

$700 come get it
That's almost exactly what I paid for it plus the cost of the parts for the shit I fixed.

I mean like, on the internet, man.

I said a cool hundo, let me know when you get really desperate kek

Since you're on a buying spree, my old drz is still collecting dust...

>showing prospective buyer my SV
>buyer loves it, looks way cleaner than most
>ready to make a deal tomorrow
>pull out, pull onto a crossroad to check my google maps
>drop the fuck out of my bike in a hole that looked completely flat in the dark
>have to call the prospective buyer to help me pull it out of the hole

help

is he still going to buy it?

he dropped the offer by like.. a lot

What a cuck, why didnt you call your bros?

the buyer was 60-70 miles from where i live, but only 20 from where i work so i figured i'd just do it on the way home, and when i dropped it people thought i was a robber dressed in all black in the middle of the night (hindsight 20/20) and sped the fuck away

it was a fun night

Already got a dirt bike, and got a supermoto coming in the mail in January.

k dad

>can't pick up his own bike

what all is damaged?

forks bent, wheel dented, rad leaking, bars twisted...

>all that from just dropping the bike
sv a shit

one of my mirrors wiggles to the point that its useless now and it's got a few new scratches, all in all not too bad but humiliating

I'm liking the amount of DRZ memery in these threads recently
