Start small. If you know what you'd like to change off the bat, then go ahead and do that. Play for a bit and more things to mod will come to mind. Mod little by little.

Well, have you modded your game at all, yet, or are you starting from scratch? If from scratch, start with the unofficial patches, memory/crash fixes, SKSE, and SkyUI. After that, body mods and textures for them, then general texture packs of resolution appropriate to the power of your rig.

Past that, play for a bit and figure out what you want changed/fixed, see if there's mods to do so, and work from there.
