Shrines mean you keep some degree of map control over your side of the map until all your t2s are down. That's far more significant than the heal they provide (which is also a big change).

changes like aegis or buybacks or runes being added is similar to the shrines being added, the shrines aren't the main focus of complaints since they could add to the game
but talents and buffing overall gold and xp gain is something else entirely
