Is he broken? To be fair I haven't played him myself yet, so I'm pretty ignorant of his side of things. Maybe not OP but it seems like a little much.
Azmodan can really push forts but he's kind of garbage in fights. Xul is fantastic at pushing and sets up kills but he can't really afford to be in melee combat that often. Ragnaros gets tons of health in combat like Thrall and Cho'gall, he has a speed-up that also does a good chunk of damage, and instead of chain lightning his meteor forces them to eat tons of damage running away or stay and get beat on by his team.

So he's excellent in fights but he's also the best (counter)pusher in the whole game and his ultimate is pretty low key so if you're in the middle of a fight you might not notice it. You can't defend your forts if the wave is coming or you'll eat tons of damage, and you can't push into his base without eating tons of damage. Especially once he hits 20 and can throw waves out once a minute.
Molten Core is super cool too, especially since it boosts sulfuras' range so much, but if it's going to negate objective damage it shouldn't be 100% risk free. Make it like longboat where if you take a stand and kill him dead he's stunned for 3 seconds or gets reduced to 1hp. He's just too good at everything for him to have 2 really great ultimates and then 180 seconds for a third ult that's better than the old Odin.

4k at Level 1, up to 8k/12k at level 20 if you pick the Heroic Difficulty Talent.

On the other hand, BHB and Sky Temple deal a -fuckton- of damage, so you're probably only gonna block somewhere from 4-6 shots.

He's kind of like Thrall in that he's good at literally everything and has multiple builds for any situation. It's very difficult to counterpick him.

What I feel makes him broken is his ridiculous defense potential; Molten Core and Lava Wave will shut down almost any push attempt as long as you're not like three levels behind. I've won games by basically denying the enemy of any good pushes and stalling.

Molten Core in general is just insane, especially if you pick Heroic Difficulty at 20 (which I feel you should), because you can use it offensively too and bully the enemy team back. Being able to do that every 50 seconds is absurd.

Honestly they should have just rebraded him as a defensive type Specialist (it would be the first), and focus on doing cool stuff with Molten Core, Lava Wave, and general anti siege gameplay

On the one hand it's only enough to save you from a couple shots, especially combining the laser's damage over time and the naturally diminishing health, but on the other it's a pretty gigantic defensive boost for one team to just shrug off 3 out of 12 cannon shots every time the objective comes up. Or you know the damage is all done to Ragnaros so even the base version of MC can totally protect a keep from a direct hit on warhead junction.

No source or any statistical data to show this at all. Why does /hotsg/ try to excuse and defend the shit match-making all of the time? Even in the useless trap that us HL, GM can be matched with and/or against Bronze. Just goes to show rank means and affects very little.

Yeah, I'll poke around for the source now. Keep in mind this is just Quick Match, and possibly Unranked Draft, where matchmaking rules are probably already loosened.
