How often do you check that all of your bolts on your car are torqued to the manufacturers specs?

How often do you check that all of your bolts on your car are torqued to the manufacturers specs?

never since Im not autistic

Daily. What kind of pleb do you take me for?

>torquing things to spec
Unless it's something delicate like rod bolts or main bearing caps, no. Tight enough is tight enough

On my race car:
before every race and after every race weekend.
On my daily:
every time I do maintenance I check the entire system.

I think I need to check my rear motor mount. Should have broken in by now, but it's still rattling when I idle some times.

>Asking Veeky Forums about proper torque

Its not a meme when they say everyone on this board is literally retarded.

Hand tight means all right, fuck you autist.

/thread

I tighten everything til it gets loose again, then back it off a quarter turn

Nice stripping fag

Is like you don't even pre drive checklist

>he doesn't impact everything

Everything's rusted together so I don't have to worry about that shit.

/thread

but is it rusted to manufacturer specs?

As long as things are finger tight I figure I'm OK

is that how you install headbolts too?

tldr

>people who drive shitboxes

don't torque

>people who drive expensive cars

torque

I just overtorque my lugnuts like any other red blooded American and go about my day.

Every few months or whenever I'm doing maintenance. Also I paint marker everything.

Nice electric toothbrush btw

fpbp
literally this

Crank everything until it strips, then back off 1/2 turn.

Your 3 series or c class is the definition of shitbox faggot.

Toque'd tight like insurance on my wallet.

>back off 1/2 turn
>Not tightening 1/2 turn more to make sure it doesn't fall off

>not tightening 1/2 turn more, getting a size bigger spanner and rounding off the edges so that nobody can't untighten them

Its like you hate your car

I just listen to the bolt and when it torques to me, tell me 'tight!' I then pull my socket from the bolt and move to the next.

>t. jelly busrider

Every 50 miles I re torque to manufacturer specifications.

same here after about 45 miles you can feel the difference

...

Any torque that's called out in the Haynes manual I retorciendo to when doing routine maintenance. It's not like it takes you any longer using the torque wrench over a regular socket wrench.

Twice. Once when re-assembling and once more after 50 miles if its a moving part.

3 series and C classes are DD shitboxes in europe
>le europoor meme
Americans think they are fucking luxury cars, literally every german family has one

>over torque lug nuts
>not just impacting them
Stay pleb
