What's a good mod for a gimbled large cannon? They all seem kind of meh, except sturdy mount for the extra HP, but getting my weapons blown off usually isn't a problem unless I'm dead already. Is it all about dat Experimental with cannons?

Personally I'm just sick of hearing about 'ship sales' or 'new concept ship' referred to as content. They still haven't even done like half the ships (Most of which are massive) and the oldest ones are/need to be reworked, and the ones they introduce don't even fully work yet.

New ships are cool, but I'm not excited at the "offer" to pay them another $135 for a ship that's not more than a drawing.

Also, with all these promised features, ships alone aren't enough anymore.
Where is the economy, the professions, the new zones/cities, the landing sequences, the cargo, the animations, the planets, the working ship interiors, the mining, the complex destruction sequences, the dynamic interior destruction, the dynamic ship repair...

I'm not expecting these features to be done, I'm not even expecting them all to be worked on right now, but I want to SEE some progress, some clips of working in progress that aren't scripted to all hell, even a buggy graybox/wireframe whatever would be cool.

I still have hopes for the game, and I'm well aware that it takes time, but going for months and months with "It's coming", "Weeks, not months!" isn't enough.

Cat command module living area is pretty nice actually.

How is the interior? Is the caterpillar the biggest implemented ship at the moment?

All ships are missing features especially in the damage system, multicrew won't truly open up tell item 2.0.

I do agree it is frustrating especially with no word on 3.0 from the live stream. The good news is CIG should start being open about 3.0 once 2.6 hits live.

Not that guy but, it's the longest ship so far but I'd say it's smaller than the Starfarer in interior space. The caterpillar feels quite cramped in the main body, large enough to move around but it's still no large open areas. The Starfarer has a lot of empty space imo.

I love the caterpillar though, the layout and cargo hold is nice as hell.

Arena commander was "fun" in 2.5.

The problem with asking if something is fun, is it's too broad a question. Almost no one ever has fun losing, and in a game like that, someone is losing, always.

Man, I really wish I could have gotten in on that PTU. Fuck them with that subscription baiting.

Looking good. The layout is somewhat confusing at first though. Also the Starfarer isn't as long, but significantly wider and higher.

I'm a subscriber solely because I like AtV et al. Well, that and the other misc perks and hangar loot.

The PTU is a nice bonus.

PTU is sent in waves. After 5(?) waves it gets sent to live where everyone can access it. Think of it as a stress test for the update.

Maybe there's a better way to phrase it but Space Engineer isn't made to be as immersive than SC is meant to be. You are right it's intricate as it's very complex, but not in the way SC is.
Ship building for SE is a limitation because the developer have to predict ahead of time of possible way for players to minmax the ship, as a result you can't have the arbitrary role balance that SC will have.

It don't mean that Space Engineer isn't good, but it isn't comparable to Star Citizen.

When I try to load crusader from main menu it loads me into my fucking hangar or does nothing and when I try to use the elevator terminal in the hangar is says all instances are full.

I really wonder how much the Caterpillar can actually carry. The amount of availible space on the ground that has cargo locking plates isn't that great and the catwalk cuts off roughly 50% on the one side.

According to lore humans have never interacted with Vanduuls without them being aggresive so I doubt it. Although I guess a lone Vanduul might be fairly neutral if you meet them, they do some trading with the Banu so
