the IV drip injects at the base metabolism rate
by using more than 1 chemical in it, you are injecting less than the base metabolism rate of each chemical
if there was no lower bound to this you could cram as many different chemicals as you could inside the IV drip and just keep refilling it with water and it would still work at full effectiveness
that's why it works the way it does

even right now, by loading 2 different chemicals in the IV, you are making both of those chemicals last twice as long

Literally I was testing on a dead guy who killed himself twice so we could compare mixes. We used his weird mix, then my standard mix, and I timed healing per tick and he timed overall time to clone.

It wasn't "shit" but it was inefficient and took 20-45 extra seconds per clone while speedcloning, and probably had complications when being used as a heal tube but none that we found.

Also chest borers can secrete blood directly into their host, as well as evolve clotting agent for 200 chems to temporarily stop all bleeding.
